Just back from the game. We are third because the league is so poor but our football is diabolical most of the time. Loan players, old timers on big wages, and we don't even play as a team most of the time. I for one, would pay Zamora the rest of his money as I believe his contract is up at the end of the season and part with him now, and recall Hitchcock. How many of these players will be here next season if we go up or not. The basis of the team has to be Austin, Philips, Simpson if they are back fit. I could go on and on, I really can't believe what a waste this season has been.
Depressing isn't it? I think TF finally had enough in the last window and redknapp is gone in the summer, I'm holding onto that hope as my consolation for this season.
Correct, only Harry can't be held responsible for all of them. Would go further that it's not just the Managers either, someone behind the scenes ( Beard) should have gone by now.
if he was more visible people would just moan about him not being a 'football person' and getting in Harold's way. He is the operations manager of the club, can't be held responsible for performances. Talking about absences, what exactly do Mittal and Bhatia bring to the party?
as i said, the footballing decisions by TF and beard have been as bad as they get, terrible managers, horrible worthless players, someone needs to pay for that. i think most of us could have picked better managers and players and thats not a joke.
It's the 2nd tier of professional English football, when has it ever been "so poor"? What're we now, Barcelona? This is our level, we've been artificially boosted to higher echelons by a rich owner.
Our budget is probably that of the bottom 10 teams combined and several time that of the rest. We should be the barca of this league considering the backing and the fact that the manager is paid more than world cup winners. If Caterham spent 600m, they would not be satisfied to stay where they are.
Agree with everything that is being said...on the basis that we go up team has to be built around simpson, Phillips and Austin...I though t the young lad Keane looked good yesterday..anyone know why he was taken off. The most moving moment yesterday was the chap with terminal cancer and lifelong fan being introduced at half time...I would have made the team watch the emotion on that poor man's face...if that didn't move them to perform I don't know what would. ...
Management took a punt on us getting back up first time round - and for a while, even though we rode our luck, it looked like it might work. But losing Austin and Phillips has exposed us. If we fail this season, we have to build around the good young players we have, with other good young players. If management don't do this, that is the time they should consider the position.
In short no. If you think back to almost four years ago in the 'Four Year Plan' when Warnock came into our club. He said, ''We've got far too many loan players. Loan players won't die for the cause. '' He got rid of most of them, signed Taarabt and just got in a couple of good one's in Walker and Routledge. This season we've regressed. Kranjcar, Ekotto, Maiga etc don't give a monkeys about us.
Of course we have moved on! How many people seriously, hand on heart, thought that we would be close to the top of the table, rather than closer to the bottom? Not many I think. You could say that to date we have exceeded expectations, which is possibly why this bump (or reality check) is difficult to stomach. But we definitely are WORK IN PORGRESS.
No we haven't. Our performances against the top sides, has if anything deteriorated. Our side is dominated by loanees. We are being dominated by younger, hungrier opposition. Opposing sides have worked out our defence, and are opening us up regularly. Injuries have dealt a hammer blow to our most promising players.
For me the biggest thing that's been missing is a talisman. I have no wish to re-open a debate about You-Know-Who (that's history). I was hoping that Nico Krancjar was going to be that man, but sadly we appear to have hired a fat guy with the same name as that Croatian international that graced the stage a few years back. In a way Charlie Austin was proving to be something of a talismanic figure, popping up with the all-important goals to get the team out of jail. But what's really needed is the midfielder with the vision, the killer passes and the ability to dictate the tempo of games. At the moment I'm clinging onto the dream that Ravel Morrison will be that man, but it's an awful lot to be pinning onto an out-of-form, relatively young man with currently-questionable match fitness. We are QPR; this is our way.
We are not even a Burnley never mind a Barcelona. The amount we are paying our manager, coaches and most of our players I expect to go and watch some decent football for the price of my season ticket not the crap I have had to watch most games.
Not sure what I expected this season. Yes we have some crap players like Zamora but we also have players that have performed well at previous teams but don't do it for us. The manager and coaches should be doing better. It is not a case of what we might have expected its a case of were we should be. Fact is we should be finishing top two with the money we have spent and the players we have.
