This does make some sense. I think TF has had enough of HR and that's why he wouldn't spend in January. The sooner Redknapp goes the better.
Well he won't respond to you, because he can't see your posts. Mine neither, comrade. Truth is we are third in the table, albeit playing horrible, disjointed football. H won't and shouldn't be sacked. He should have walked last summer. I'm sure he looked at the squad we had when he agreed to come for £3.2 million a season and thought "you'd have to be an idiot to fail with this lot". To provide insurance he started to talk down our chances and belittle his squad almost immediately - he'd look even more of a miracle worker then. But he couldn't deliver, even with two thirds of the season yet to go. The last nine games (2 points!) were some of the most abject, spineless excuses for performances I have ever seen at any level, anywhere. Luckily H had laid the foundations of blame on others and racked it up in the last few weeks of the season. Then he gets to pick his own squad for the championship (although with some more financial commonsense applied) and builds something that is purely aimed at promotion this season. If he succeeds fine, though we will be back in Groundhog Day, overpaying for players either not quite good enough or not quite fit enough for the top level. Which is only bearable if they try their hearts out. If he doesn't succeed (and believe me I hope he does because I hate the Championship with a passion, I'd much rather see a brave team fail in the Prem and pick up £70m in the process than anyone walking over this dross) he should be shown the door very quickly indeed. Very interesting post from Nuts. Hmmmm.......
Explain. The only reason I could see for that would be to rub his nose in it. While that might be pleasing it doesn't exactly help us. Also he is as likely as many of the overpaid primadonnas to just sit tight till his contract runs out. It would be madness to hold the most important employee at the club against his will.
The question has been asked and it's only right that alternatives should be put up for debate. Personally, I would have Robinson at MK Dons now that Rosler has been snapped up by Wigan. They play good football. Granted he's not tested at this level. Mackay has at Championship level and would be deserving of another chance. I don't think he would be put off coming here given the loyalty and backing Tony F has shown to both his appointees as compared to Tan. There are obviously managers abroad as well but I don't pretend to know anything about them apart from the managers of the bigger clubs. However that is not where we should be looking. Definitely would not go for Hoddle after everything I've said. If he were ready to come back, I would be interested in Steve Coppell.
Ole Gunner Sol for me would have been first choice Followed by Laudrup And hoddle a close 3rd.... Or maybe we could get SAF out of retirement ?
Very interesting, that would suggest my theory is right that hes gone no matter what in the summer and thats why he wasnt backed in this window. TF was prepared to write off this season in order to get rid and then rebuild in the summer. Thats fantastic if that is correct because we wont dig ourselves into a deeper hole the longer redknapp stays here. Things improved when mclaren got here and dropped off as soon as he left, the players loved his training too which suggests they arent enjoying it under redknapp.
Exactly. I would have sacked Warnock the summer we went up, I wouldnt have bought in Hughes and I wouldnt have bought in Redknapp. I think all 3 decisions are right. Ill go off the deep end if fat sam is bought in but would be indifferent to someone like Mackay.
And in none of these situations did you suggest an alternative. (Sack COLIN having won the league FFS ) Still no suggestion. Does everyone see the pattern now?
The ignore feature on here is a crap idea on any forum if you ask me. Whats the point in offering an opinion if you cant here the opinion of others?
That's pretty much how I feel, too. Maybe Harry, like the team, is going thru a bad spell but he's been around long enough to know how to get out of a hole .................. providing of course he's up for it and still has the desire. Our team need our support now and as much as I may want to sling some mud, I'm not going to. There is too much of the season to go .................. we just need to make it happen. I don't know what else to say except hang in there.
Well, I suppose if someone really upsets you but you don't want to worry about your blood pressure or spend your life moaning to the mods, its an option. In Flyer's case he just can't take authentic and well thought out challenge to his trite, repetitive sound bites. The point of dialogue is to give your opinion but equally to listen and occasionally change your mind as a result. Young Flyer is only interested in the first half of the equation, which is why, even when he is right, he is stunningly boring. I read his stuff, sometimes you get an interesting insight into the world of the passive paranoiac.
I think my girlfriend must have the ignore option set to permanent for me, mind you it must work being we get on so well!
Now that would be embarrassing - can you imagine the stick we'd face from fans from other clubs, for having a manager with roses tattooed all over her arse
Definitely decision time at the end of the season. A huge number of contracts coming to an end, which means.. another rebuild. Most importantly, it's an opportunity to straighten out the squad and get a better balance. This coming summer will define our next few years, I hope we have the right man in place for that! For what it's worth, no point in changing Harry now. He should have his own pride to worry about - with his experience he ought to be top two; he's not, so as DT says he needs to finish the job!
