£7m for Hatem when we bought him?
Seems like lazy journalism as it was £2m (as reported by the EC) if I remember right.

    http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/inter-milan-front-queue-snap-6714284?

Inter Milan will be at the front of the queue to snap up Hatem Ben Arfa in the summer.

The Italian giants allowed their interest in the Frenchman to be known last month, but made no move to sign him.

However, they would have been encouraged by the news that Alan Pardew is ready to move on the 26-year-old whose career has stalled this season.

Newcastle would be looking to recoup all of the £7million paid out to Marseille three years ago, although that may be asking too much. However, if any club could afford such a fee then it’s Inter.

There is going to be a serious clear-out at St James’ Park once this campaign has ended.

Papiss Cisse, Sylvain Marveaux, Shola Ameobi and many fringe players have little chance of staying at the club beyond this summer.

And Newcastle have been left fearing Mathieu Debuchy would become the latest star to leave the club – after a website owned by Mike Ashley linked the player with Bayern Munich.

The story appeared yesterday on footballdirectnews – formerly known as sportdirectnews – which is run by Ashley’s company.

Supporters believe the site is being used as a tool to drum up interest in Newcastle players.

Debuchy has been one of the team’s most consistent performers this season.

After a difficult start, the French internationalist has hardly put a foot wrong and is one of the last players the fans would want to see leave.

Inter have the cash, I'd try and push them to at least £10m.

I seem to recall it being around £5.5m when we bought him, although quite possible there have been add-ons for appearances?

I could swear that the injury dropped it to more like £2m.

If they offered anything over 3m-4m I'd snap their fecking hands off! Never gonna realise his potential or become a 'professional'.

I wouldn't be worried about losing HBA anymore. I like the guy but he just doesn't work hard enough or clever enough on the pitch. He has amazing talent, but doesn't seem to have a great footballing brain.

I'd be far more worried if there is anything to this Debuchey story.

I think the only hope for Benni doing well here is if Pards goes, as there seems to be something wrong there. However, I can't see Ashley booting Pards out, so maybe cashing in on Benni us our best bet.

^^^. You see, I didn't put that ' in there as in that situation "it's" is grammatically incorrect and "its" should be used instead, but the iPad decided to throw it in when I wasn't looking.

Better managers than Pards have tried and failed. I don't think there is any hope for him.

Debuchy going would be a huge blow. He is ideal for PSG's system but they do have Jallet and Van der Wiel. Arsenal could lose Sagna which is a bigger concern. They have the money, great tradition with French lads, international colleagues, Wenger, London................

Didn't think the tags were all that bad, or good.

Other threads have much better ones.

I hope someone at the club is working on what our plan is going to be for the summer. Looks like there is gonna be a lot of players leaving. Not fussed about benni mind. I want to love him but have come to the conclusion he is pretty rubbish now. Debuchy however is mint. I am almost certain that he will try for a move away when the window opends.

HBA seems to have gone off the boil, but you can rely on Debuchy to give his all in every game. He seems to hold the fans in high regard too.

I think Debuchy will stay. I'm assuming as a defender he won't make much more money in france after the tax hike. I would think that would leave Arsenal as his only destination. HBA can go though, i would take cabella over him any day of the week. Cabella knows how to put in a shift for the team too.
