A lovely problem to have, if ever it crops up but any thoughts on how they should be allocated? Just reading some threads on another board. One's complaining at the lack of available tickets for a final, on another thread, the same people are justifying why they didn't go today because it was 'the reserves', which got me wondering if 'pass holders' first is fair? I'd guess that there's a fair few non-passholders go to cup games and a significant percentage of pass holders that don't, at least in the early stages. Should that be recognised when tickets are allocated? Who has supported the cup run more?
I always saw one of the benefits of being a pass holder was guaranteed cup tickets so it would have to be pass holders first. If it ever happens I would hope that those non pass holders who attended earlier rounds would have at least kept ticket stubs. Suppose the same would apply to the team, many of the players from 'Boro and Southend would not make a semi final, or final team.
well we have what? 16k pass holders or something? so at wembley for example.. every season ticket holder SHOULD get a ticket since we've not even had a bloody home cup game yet say about 6k away fans thus far? with some probably gone to all 3 say 19k what's interesting is for a cup final the allocation is only about 22-25k... yet we took what 38,000 for the play off final? ****s in suits.
What has how many we took to the play off final to do with cup final allocations? Half of those at Wembley were just there for a day out and many won't have been to a game at the KC.The FA Cup final allocation has always been paltry. Other clubs have taken more than we did to different finals at Wembley but this had no affect on up final allocations. The allocation at the new Wembley is less than it was previously. At least there would be enough ticket to ensure all our passholders get a ticket. A lot of other clubs have more passholders than there would be tickets. If we did win the Cup a lot would miss the presentation. If they have to leave early at the KC God know what time they would have to leave at Wembley to avoid traffic jams.
Brady, we've played 2 FA cup games this far, 1500 at boro and 1000 at Southend, I don't see 3500 making the sail down to Brighton.
not entirely presumptuous. We could have a semi final at Wembley (something which does take the edge off getting to the final in my opinion)
yeah so i said we had about 16k season holders approx so i said after these fa cup games 19k tickets for wembley ! (should we make it ofcourse)
Since we haven't had a home cup game it's a bit irrelevant, but hypothetically I'd like to see those fans who attended home cup games in the early rounds (while others abstained because the lineup doesn't meet their standards) prioritised in some way.
exactly my point in the play off final, we as fans get way more tickets than you do in a cup final so you proved my point.
You were making a point? You were just moaning that in your opinion we should get more tickets for spme reason. If we got to the Cup Final we would have enough tickets to give every season pass holder a ticket with some left over. These could go to those with the most stubs for games. We are in a far better position than Man U, Arsenal, Newcastle, Man City who average double our gates. The fact that some people who haven't been all season, possibly never, and just want to be there as sightseers, sitting in silence and moaning about regular fans singing and standing, doesn't concern me one little bit.
No I was just making a comparison, just because we woulď all get a ticket, the fact is cup finals get poor allocations in such a big stadium
It should be prioritised in this order: 1. Anyone who has attended an FA cup game this season (pass holder or not). 2. Pass holders (one ticket per pass). 3. People that have attended more than 5 games this season. 4. General sale. Its the only fair way to do it.
Yes, but it has always been like that. If you know your football you will know why. Do you think it should change if City get there? The system is certainly more unfair on the clubs with massive support. We get the same amount of tickets as Man U who get three times the attendance at their home games.
So you could apply for a ticket on the basis you had been to a cup game and then apply for another as you are a passholder? We have 18,000 passholders so any cup game with more than 7,000 at it will mess that system up. The only fair way is passholders first and then others. Even that is no good for clubs with more than 25,000 passholders.
The only change I would make is to point 1 and restrict it the rounds prior to the QF. Other than that, in my opinion, a fair and simple system.
I was just making a comparison that's all I'll be able to get a ticket should we get there, too many tickets end up with touts/corporate shenanigans
