Is it? I just picked that number out of thin air given how tight things are in the bottom half. Keep playing the way you are though... lol

    Too true...

and on that score, how many points you think it will take to stay up? I'm starting to think that 3rd bottom might be a higher tally than I first thought - a lot higher than the mid 30s of previous years. I reckon it could be 40 or just over.

I know that Newcastle supporters attach a lot of importance to present form and are not interested on what went before so taken on the last nine games Newcastle would not even make the championship but would go straight through to Div1

There are a set number of points available so for the bottom teams to amass 40 points the rest of the league would have to start playing like Newcastle

So, teams in top half, like Newcastle, will have to start playing like..Newcastle. OK, cheers for your wisdom there Fredor. <ok>

I know they don't read much in Oz, but if you try reading my post you'll see I said 3rd bottom. There are 36 points available, so the bottom teams would need to get about 44% of the points available. Seeing as battling teams often pick up a higher percentage of points in the last portion of the season this is not that unrealistic.
