Wouldn't be surprised if Charnley isn't tasked with picking up the 'post Kinnear pieces'... although I genuinely think someone like an Arsenal will move in for him.
    A top, top player.
AS they say though... talk is cheap...

    http://www.soccernews.com/newcastle-talks-make-remys-loan-deal-permanent/138404/?

The Chronicle understands that Newcastle are stepping up their efforts to sign striker Loic Remy on permanent deal.

The Frenchman has been in stunning form since arriving on loan at St James’ Park, and it is hardly surprising the club officials are looking to turn his loan deal into permanent move.

Newcastle have reportedly opened talks with the player’s representatives, but they are aware winning the chase for Remy’s signature will be no easy task.

The 27-year-old is eager to explore all options before making a decision on his career, as he is holding out for an offer from one of England’s top clubs.

Remy has taken almost no time to adapt to the Premier League, having bagged 6 goals in 14 outings for QPR before netting 11 times in 21 games for Newcastle.

The experienced forward has so far scored 4 goals in 21 matches for France and he has a good chance of making the country’s World Cup squad.

    http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/loic-remy-newcastle-united-move-6712925?

Newcastle United have started preliminary discussions with Loic Remy’s representatives about a permanent transfer – but the Magpies face a major battle to land his signature on a full-time basis.

Remy’s future became clearer yesterday when he learned that he would face no further action over rape allegations dating back to last May.

However, while Alan Pardew has made it clear to his board he wants to keep his 11-goal top scorer on a full-time basis, the news that Remy can now focus on football triggered fresh movements from clubs eager to sign the 27-year-old yesterday.

The Chronicle understands that there are at least seven clubs keen on signing Remy next summer when his loan deal expires with the Magpies. Remy has kept his relationship with QPR cordial despite quitting the Loftus Road club after relegation.

A source close to Remy said: “Loic has enjoyed his time at Newcastle so far but is still undecided over what the future holds. At 27, he is eager to play his football and his peak years in the Champions League but he has not made a decision at this stage.”

The former Marseille man still has a good rapport with both Harry Redknapp and owner Tony Fernandes. And should QPR win promotion back to the Premier League the door will be open for him to return.

The task for United between now and the end of the season though is to agree a fee with Rangers – and despite Fernandes paying an £8m record fee for the French striker, the capital club now value him at £16m.

Remy, though, ideally wants to be playing Champions League football next season and Arsenal are one of the clubs in the hunt to sign him next summer with Arsene Wenger a long-term admirer. West Ham, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Paris St-Germain and Aston Villa have also shown interest.

Remy’s agent is Frederic Guerra – a man who is no stranger to the Magpies after holding talks with the club over United’s failed bid to sign Clément Grenier from Lyon.

Back then, Guerra left the room after the Magpies are thought to have offered only a derisory fee for Remy’s services.

Newcastle will get back around the table with Remy’s representatives and with director of football Joe Kinnear now gone, Pardew will push his board to sign Remy.

Fingers crossed he signs as it would make a huge difference having him on a permanent basis. But I think it's highly unlikely. He's bound to get better offers both in terms of money and potential Champions League / Europa games. Especially if he has a good World Cup too.

I'll be very surprised (and pleasantly surprised) if Remy is here next season. We already know that he will go where the wages are highest, and there is no way we can compete with the likes of Arsenal without smashing our wage structure.

Arsenal are not mega payers, only Ozil and Podolski earn over the £100k mark and a lot of the squad are contracted at £50k, £60k and up to one player on £90k, Remy would have to put himself at the top of the goal scoring ranks to attract serious money, as you have said money seems to be the motive as he went for QPR cause the pot was bigger as opposed to CL. I would like him to stay but I think we are his shop window to the biggest clubs, I would hope at least that he bangs some goals in on his return.

    I would think so. A good 40% > 50% lower.
