All about Captain Chris for me tomorrow. Off to muddy ascot so hope the on course bookies dont go too short
Lingfield 14.15. Sagesse. I thought she was given a diabolical ride last time out so, although the same jockey, I'm giving her/him another chance to show what she is capable of.
I agree Jeff. Captain Chris should take this on his way to a Cheltenham bid. No sort of price, but the obvious stand-out. Earlier on the card I'm hoping that Bourne will have found winning ways again. Racing off a very generous 125, McCain's seasoned hurdler has run well without getting his head in front, but tomorrow looks an ideal opportunity for him. I really like Emperor's Choice in the Grand National trial at Haydock. On a line through Mountainous, he holds a few of these, and coming from Venetia Williams' inform stable of mud lovers, he looks a cracking ew at 10-1 At Wincanton, assuming it is on, Melodic Rendezvous will be taking this on the way to contesting the Champion Hurdle, and I'm confident he will win authoratively.
Lingfield 2.50 Golden Amber 10-1 I think this horse could be unexposed as he won his maiden in Ireland very easily before coming over and joining Dean Ivory's yard. The horse was not given a determined ride first time up and I think it was a fact finding mission. I fear the Steve Williams horse if backed but our selection could be value at 10's/
Leo Luna booked at Ascot and Haydock tomorrow. Been following this one for a while + has had a wind op so I will chance my wind op theory on this one
14.55 Haydock- Loch Ba- 9/1 Very well weighted with and is ready to win a race like this. Was in the placings in the Tommy whittle chase lto here beating two subsequent winners. Wont have any problems with the ground and is ready to run a big race at a big price. 14.40 Ascot- Houblon Des Obeaux - 9/2 Will love the ground and loves this course. Yard in great form and is a horse in form himself had a good forth at cheltenhma even tho the race was not run to suit. will have come on for that run and altho is his hardest test to date will be very hard to beat
I have just watched the recorded TV programme aired yesterday regarding the kidnapping of Shergar. It was not very good and shed little light on what most people would have known anyway, except for one thing I could never imagined. The kidnappers staged a meticulous kidnap in order to raise money through a ransom demand made to the Aga Khan, now who did they select as their chosen negotiator between themselves and the horses representatives? Derek Thomson! They insisted he be flown to Ireland for the task. Imagine that, the IRA phone up and he is giving it the whoa big fella and offering to to judge the best balaclava contest. Lets hope no one attempts any of that stuff with Frankel as Matt Chapman may get a call and end up giving them a yeeeehhaaaa
Corals going 6/4 from 8.30am for members for anyone liking CC. On course betting is for stag parties, piss heads and planks...York and Chester racegoers in effect.

LMAO My bookie will love me today as every horse I fancy looks to have no chance Asc 3:15 Seymour Eric 33/1 Hay 1:45 Café Au Lait 33/1 (finished in front of Harristown at Warwick) Hay 3:30 The Knoxs 20/1 Winc 1:20 Master Cardor Visa 50/1 Winc 2:30 Solstice Son 20/1 (they have been laying this out for a handicap) Winc 3:05 Kaki Island 25/1, Quaddick Lake 20/1, Xaarcet 16/1 (dutch that lot Ron) Good luck all today
ROLLING ACES 7/1 the only bet of the day- looked a real good jumper in Ireland 2 starts back, will have a pace to aim at and a few of the opposition have points to prove. Captain Chris is very smart right handed, but heavy ground is not the best for his jumping and Riverside Theatrelooms in and out. Medermit if close to fitness is a danger but I suspect he will come on for this. Plenty of valur in that 7/1 I think.
kattanga----a rare selection of horses for me today to be posting on here, but being confined indoors by the rather inclement weather---idle hands make the devils work. i am taking a rather tried and tested trait today----nichols at wincanton, but avoiding his hotpots, and i think theres some great value in these 3. 2-30 minellahalfcentury aldopicros 3-05 brother du berlais 4-15 nap ps---i couldnt resist sending a valentine to that old ex-thorn in our side from benefit street, greenford. all the very best of luck to all today------btw----if you can get a price---invest on newcastle to be relegated---its at least 10/1
The Wealerdealer 13.20 Wincanton First time in a handicap for the Pipes after 3 'runs' in races won by decent horses. Yard in good form and only runner at the track, doesn't look a very good race and off a mark of 101 with claimer taking 7 off think this one will win today. Hood and blinkers on for the first time (I think) as well, I'm having a go at 11/2.
I dont think its that interesting or tricky Ron, Cole Harden goes to the front and if hes the horse I think he is they wont get near him. If Pipes was anything special he would have won that woeful grade 2 last time, Zamdy Man done him from the front and I expect Cole Harden to do the same, Irish Cavalier will get found out here, doesnt have anywhere near the potential of Cole Harden to my eye. This is the best horse Greatrex has trained and hell be lucky to get another like him anytime soon.
