Not sure how clubs with WC players will see making them play in the FA Cup Final a stressful thing and not a hugely motivating and brilliant experience for them..? There's a month between the end of the season and the WC. Club's couldn't give a **** about the WC in the context of selecting a team.
Agreed. We have enough in the squad for both the PL and FA Cup. SB can still make 7/8 changes for the FA Cup from the PL starting XI.
I never thought that I would see City: be in the top division play at Wembley be in a cup final (or even a semi final) I have now seen the first two of these. I want to see the third of them.
Cup run for me. We need to give Aluko & Brady match practice. I'd be disappointed if we didn't have a go vs Brighton. Plus, I think we're more than capable of staying in the league. If we can't win 3 matches and draw a few then we don't deserve to stay up anyway.
I'd put us in the same category as Wigan. Never gonna win the PL but given a sniff of a chance in the FA Cup then go for it. Hull City as 2013/14 winners will be preserved in the record books for evermore. This is just another league season that will be forgotten in 10 years time (whether we stay up or go down). Go for the Cup.
Agree that our Premier League survival is more important than the cup, but if we did win it we would be the last club to do so. The FA is changing the name of the cup next season, so the Budweiser Cup will no longer exist.
I would obviously much rather us concentrate on retaining Premier League status, but the draw keeps falling nicely for us with big teams facing each other, there's a real chance we could somehow win this Cup. Beat Brighton, and it's really going to be a chance, especially if the winners of the two 'main' matches on weekend get drawn as opponents in the next round.
I get the impression that there are some who think Brighton will be easy.W have a piss poor record there and it wont be as easy as people think whichever team is put out. Most important is retaining our league status but a return to Wembley would be good.
well if i had a choice win the FA cup or retain premier league status i'd choose the WINNING the FA cup anytime
As long as we get games against teams that we should win go for it. I am sure Bruce will do what is best for the club. He has taken us this far.
We've only reached the quarters once in all the time I've been out of nappies, and we were robbed that night too. So I'm rather keen to see us reach the semis and give it a good go at Wembley. (Especially if it's against Sheff Wed.)
