spent many a happy fri night night in there before going onto scamps ,beer keller,or baileys.happy days
I used to be in there Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Always ended the night in there and the majority of nights we would go to the can bar as it was quicker. It was in Trogg bar that i met the wife...... I remember one night they had just replaced all the carpets only for my mate to restickify them once again.....
Scamps had become Dingwalls by the time i was a Trog Bar regular, thats if i have it right as to which was Scamps. Baileys was Romeos wasn't it?
Our regular route would start in Punch, and take in Cheese, Bass, Shire, Dram and end in Trog with flirtations in differing pubs each week. Sometimes Masters, White House, Star and if we were feeling like an alternative night we would head for the Old Town...... or the occasional Beverley Bender on the train. Good times had by all.... Wasn't Trog called Trog Bar and the Bat Cave, and i always thought the back part was the Bat Cave part but was never sure if the front was Manchester or Trog?
It's good that they stuck faithfully to the original design concept. please log in to view this image
They where all aggressive bouncers in them days. Haven't forgot the bunch of tossers that where rumoured to of tossed that guy over the railings at Baileys, they where the pits. A mate and me once embarrased one of them ****ers in the lift when he was showing off to these birds. Told them he was really a bouncer at Mothercare. He told us it was about time we left, so we asked why was he and his mates planning on tossing us off the top floor. Strange they all got replaced after the enquiry into that incident.
I've fell out of there a few times after doing a pub circuit, it seems a different cliente round the pubs now or is that just me being a hell of a lot older? Remember that Bailey's incident, did anyone ever get done that?
As far as I can remember no one was ever held to account for it but the bouncers where all moved out and replaced by another aggressive bunch. The only difference been they beat you up in the lift. No I didn't experience it but a mate did.

one of the bouncers in baileys was called dave pride, him and another lad who worked with him a black lad whose name i can't remember were both convicted of assaulting customers and both got 18 months inside.
anyone remember a young slapper who used to get shagged in the toilets on sunday nights? she once had a bucket of ice water thrown over her by a barmaid. she also started her sunday night out with a striptease in center bar.we were the o.p.e. lads [hairies] who had a bit of fun with the soul boys.
That brings back memories, every Thursday night, the sticky floor, beer in cans and the brilliant (for it's time) tank battle arcade game. To this day I don't know why we went in it more than once, but we did.
