<peacedove>Brendan Rodgers: Liverpool 'may be chihuahuas' in title race
Brendan Rodgers says Liverpool "may be the chihuahuas that run in between the horses' legs" in the title race.

The manager's quip was a reference to Jose Mourinho's depictions of his Chelsea side as a "little horse" and Manchester City as a "jaguar".

A 3-2 win at Fulham on Wednesday put Liverpool within four points of Mourinho's Premier League leaders.

Steven Gerrard says Liverpool "need to keep pushing" the top three teams, who are all still in the Champions League.

    Rodgers praises 'peerless' Gerrard

"If we're still in the mix when the Champions League restarts, then who knows what might happen?" said skipper Gerrard, whose 90th-minute penalty secured all three points for the Reds at Craven Cottage.

Liverpool have not won the title since 1989-90, but Mourinho's side still have to visit Anfield, as do third-placed City.

Manuel Pellegrini's City, who entertain Barcelona, and Arsenal, at home to Bayern Munich, are in Champions League action next week, while Chelsea visit Galatasaray on 26 February.

In contrast, Liverpool have not got a midweek league game scheduled for the rest of the season.

Gerrard said: "They have all got big Champions League games while we've only got to think about one game a week."

Liverpool had to overcome a scare before seeing off bottom club Fulham.

    Liverpool's key remaining games
    16 March: A v Manchester United

    30 March: H v Tottenham

    12 April: H v Manchester City

    26 April: H v Chelsea

Kolo Toure's own goal gave the Cottagers a surprise lead before Daniel Sturridge levelled following Gerrard's delightful pass.

Kieran Richardson took advantage of poor defending by Martin Skrtel to restore Fulham's advantage, but Philippe Coutinho equalised from 20 yards before Gerrard's penalty.

The spot-kick was awarded by referee Phil Dowd after Sascha Riether's clumsy stoppage-time challenge on Sturridge.

Asked about Liverpool's title chances, Rodgers added: "I think it's still the other teams' to lose. They've more points than us.

"We'll just go into each game trying to improve on every facet of our game.

"The players are doing magnificently at the moment and we're certainly showing great signs of improvement.

"We're trying to be the best we can be. There're no limits to our ambition of trying to be the best."

Did you not see my earlier post?

Jaguars surely won't fair well on Merseyside.

If Chelski are horse then they are only fit for the dog's bowl given the horse meat scandal we had recently. Dirty cheapo microwave meal.
