Lazio deny that teenage player is really 41.

This one just seems bizarre.

So, we like to sign them when they are still young. How much should we bid?

 

It wouldn't make sense if he was 41. Lazio would have checked. He can't play until he is 65, and Lazio would be the ones affected.



Its likely that he is around 21 or so. Its a common practice. Partizan once signed Taribo West, who claimed he was in his late 20's. Turns out he may have been 40. Still had it though.

 

He looks like he's had a hard life for a 17 year old

And he has arthritis in his hands by the looks of it!

 

I remember people claiming Yakubu is actually in his 40's.

 

And Kanu.

 

And Obafemi Martins.
And Jay Okocha.

Seems like every Nigerian player of note is rumoured to be 10 years older than what their documents say.

That guy looks closer to 40 than 17 though!

 

Roger Milla scored his first WC goal when he was 38, 3 years after he retired.

 

Freddy Adu had the same issue. Why he was such a "phenom".....he was probably 20 playing against 14 year olds. Babayaro was the one who called Martins when he went to Newcastle.

 

People must just age very quickly in Nigeria...
