Tranny and us share the same points,Saturday is a huge game,we want and must take those three points. Common city you have done the business tonight away, let's put a bit of distance between us and the bottom places.
Confidence. It's a rare and precious commodity. If you have any, pass it on to the boys. If you haven't, shut the f*ck up.
Agree if we cannot back this win up by taking all 3 points against Tranny then tonight's win is worthless. A win against a team at the top and a loss to a team around is far more damage than it is good.
Well done to Cotts and the boys, an unexpected and very pleasing result. Wish I'd gone now.... Birmingham City stayed at my hotel last night
Last night's game proved that we are capable of winning against the league's top teams and listening to it on Radio Bristol was a revelation in that for the first time this season I heard optimism in the commentators voices. Saying the weekend match against Tranmere is our most critical game of the season is a massive understatement because should we lose then we have lost the impetus from winning at Orient. We will finally have a fixture that could make or break our season and it comes at a time when the pack down at the bottom are starting to decide where they want to place their deckchairs, and I know we all agree that the upper decks are a lot safer and now we have the chance to rise to those levels. Despite the overwhelming optimism after last night's success I urge caution because this is, after all, Bristol City we are talking about and our inability to step over the line when the opportunity arises doesn't bode well, however we have to rely on them, being our manager and his flock, to step up and show us whether they are capable or not. Well done City for winning a massive game that in all honesty nobody on this forum expected but I don't have to tell that the job is nowhere near completion and a win on Saturday is required to put a bit more icing on the cake. Just go out and do it lads - you know you want it!
Yep it has to be! The formation confused the **** out of us and obviously Slade and the boys. Really need 3 points on Saturday. The breathing space then could be immense. Also next month looks great for us and we can really move away from danger. Gillingham, shrewsbury, Colchester and port vale. All very winnable. Plus a derby with Swindon and P'boro away where we are normally very good at. Big month
Fully agree with previous comments. Arguably, the results of the next 3-4 games will be more important than last nights - though last night was a huge confidence boost to win away at the 3rd side in the division. Of course every win is only worth the same 3 pts, whether against Brentford or Stevenage. However, three of the next four games are against relegation rivals, so by (hopefully) getting the 3 points we deprive them of making those points up on us. Only 15 matches left for us (21 for Crawley!) so these six pointers are now crucial. At the minimum, we must avoid defeat to Tranny, Sheff U and Shrewsbury, and preferably get the wins. At this stage, I wouldn't care about losing to the likes of Preston, P'boro and Rotherham, if instead we could steal the points against those teams around us. Yes, stating the obvious, sorry. Massive end to the season too, against Notts Co (currently 21st ), Stevenage (24th), Crewe (20th) and Crawley (18th).
its not a 6 pointer.. same points either win 3 points better a draw stays the same Check out Crunch games NOW COVERS BOTTOM 13 TEAMS!
