Hull, Fulham, Stoke & Palace have to be seen as definite 3 pointers. in reality probably 2 draws & 2 wins.
If we can nick a point v Liverpool that would be a bonus.
Chelsea is a banker away win unless they have already won the title!
Away from home, home wins a banker for Spurs, & Everton. Probably Southampton as well but I fancy a draw there as I do at Sunderland with a surprise away win at Newcastle.

That is 15 points which won't be enough. Got tow in all the 4 home games above get a surprise away win and a few draws and just hope we can rely on other teams dropping points.

Isn't every team targeting max points against a newly promoted team? The difference is we have home advantage. We drew away to hull and beat Fulham away.

With all due respect, the Jacks could also be a contender for the drop.. Still only 5 points seperating them from us (not including tonights result)

Hey mate I am not righting us out of anything we are in this fight as well, but i know where i would rather be at the moment. I actually believe 36 -38 points will be enoughthis year. We are chasing 4 wins from somewhere and i dont care where they come from.

Our advantage (apart from the 5 points) over you is we are scoring a few goals and have a tidy goal difference which may count as an extra point at the end of the season. Your issue is the lack of goals you have scored, is it something like 19 in 26. going to need to start scoring to ge out of this.

As I always say in the prediction threads, I just can't see where the goals are going to come from. Maybe the jacks could loan us their 2nd top scorer, OG I believe his name is.

agree with TLF its obvious a low points total will be needed to survive this year. our goals record is 19 from 26 which is appalling, whichever way you look at it, especially as we scored 3 of those against man city in the second game of the season. i therefore make that 16 goals in 24 matches since, which is awful, just awful.

looking at those stats we seem to be one of those teams that will struggle to score goals this season, let alone win games. tan was right after all to sack mackay............<ok>

No result would surprise me, but what was it about your Boxing day debacle which makes you confident about visiting St. Mary's? Having said that, I wish you well for the rest of the season---would keep the in-laws and neighbours happy!;)

    V Fulham
    V Hull
    v Palce
    V Stoke

If we don't get 10 points from these 4 games, we will not stay up (even if we do we may still not stay up). I actually don't think we have any real chance as we are terrible away, and not much better at home :)

To be honest we need three other teams to end up crashing and burning. I don't see that happening.

In the end, the first season in the PL has been a bit of a pantomime and the club just wasn't ready for it. I hope we keep a strong squad, and come back in 2015/16 better prepared.

Let's be honest any 3 teams from 10th down could be relegated, I've been very disappointed by the quality of the football in the Prem.

I think the top 9 deserve to be up there, Southampton has been the team that has played better than I thought they would.

My bottom 3 at this time would be Fulham, WBA & Norwich.

I think West Brom have the fixture list and the defence to survive. IMO the bottom 5 will be Us, Fulham, Sunderland, Palace, Norwich in whatever order. If I wasn't a Cardiff fan I'm pretty sure I'd be saying it's Fulham, Cardiff and one other but it's so close it's anyone's to play for and my blind faith hasn't quite been used up yet.

It's nothing more than a gut feeling.

The results v saints over the years have had a sense of symmetry. City before this season had won every home game since the 1975 season, and saints had not lost the home fixture likewise. Now that cycle has been broken, there may be a chance for saints home record against Cardiff to be broken!

Oh well wishful thinking did not hurt anybody......

I'm very wary of Southampton. Although I put a draw, I think we would be very lucky to get that point

Every game is winnable if you take your chances! You had a few chances in your last game that KJ should have buried, if you get some luck and the rub of the green anythings possible, just need to go out and treat every game now as a Wembley Cup final...................<ok>
