Two today. Musselbrough: 2.10 Plan Again 15/8 4.55 Hurricane Hollow - no price yet And one more in Ireland 2.50 Daliyan
Very brave going against Fennell Bay in the 2.10- but Plan again's form looks quite strong beating subsequent winner Bernardelli and if he can get an easy lead may be very hard to peg back so 15/8 I'm on
Nice work today Bob. Sadly I fancied one horse but talked myself out of it.......won at 8-1 of course! Tomorrow we have an interesting runner in the form of RAPID WATER 20-1 Kempton 7.45. Had no chance last time running over two miles but this Kempton mile tomorrow is definitely his track and trip. His last two wins a year ago and a year prior to that have come over course and distance. Those wins were off 55 and 52 but tomorrow he only races off 45 which gives him an obvious chance. He is definitely not a consistent type so its hard to gauge whether he will be right tomorrow but I reckon with Fanning up the yard may be going for a little touch. Not going mad but at 20's you don't really need to!
Yep Fennell Bay might be a tough but to crack but Ferguson horse on really heavy ground doesn't sound like an obvious good thing to me. 15/8 was pretty fair. I much prefer McCain as a trainer.
I see there is abit of money for Planetoid tomorrow- the yard havent had a well backed winner for a while- they must be keeping thier money in there pocket or keeping something else back lol - so and roughly this is the time they start to come out- will be interesting to see how much actually comes in for it plus he does have a decent claimer on his back too
Risky hedging bet for me in the 15.50 Musselburgh: Forced Family Fun 4 points at 9/4 (13) Figaro 2 points at 11/2 (13) Honour System 1 point at 12/1 (13)
Does anyone know if Keith Dalgleish has a satellite yard in England or is everything based up in Scotland?
One to treat with caution after I tipped him last time out for a new yard after a break, but LORD REDSGIRTH 20/1 runs in a qualifier tomorrow at 2.40 (Muss) and gets better ground, strips fitter for his reappearance, and gets another 5lb helping hand from the handicapper. He ran well for a long way last time before (presumably) fitness in the heavy ground took its toll, but he is potentially very nicely treated if they can get him running anywhere near old form. Should suit his front-running style at Musslbrugh's tight little track.
I'm looking forward to see how 2.20 Clonmel Railway Zira 11/1 get on in the Grade 3 Novice Hurdle and definitely think she's worth a small play. A winner of 3 of 5 starts, (absolutely bombed out on 2nd career start in a bumper) she put her hurdling debut behind her when using the experience to good use when battling well to beat Dante's Firth over 2 miles at Punchestown last month. Although from a hurdling perspective, she has an awful lot to find on form with a lot her opposition, I think Harry Kelly's Mare did very well to win over the minimum trip and I see no end of improvement now she is stepped up significantly to 2m6f. The only Mare in the field, she faces some stern opposition tomorrow but she's a horse I've always liked a lot and although she's going to have to step up massively from the form she showed when winning at Punchestown I certainly think she can do so and hopefully she can surprise a few tomorrow by landing this.
Morning ppl  Only 1 today and a pretty confident one at that… 350 Muss- Family Forced Fun 9/4. I can see this scooting up today but I need a lil help as think in a big field at Cheltenham with the way this horse travels he is a cert in whatever handicap he runs In but I cant find which one that might be??? Can anyone help???
Nass, they'll be going to the Triumph with him (not entered in the Fred Winter). The yard like to have a pop at that one, they were double handed with Kashmir Peak and Hidden Justice last year and have previously won it with the legendary but sadly retired Countrywide Flame. The yard also have Rutherglen, who is with the same ownership as CWF and they'll be heading to Cheltenham with him this year, they currently have 4 in the Triumph, I suspect it will come down to FFF and Rutherglen although Aurore D'estruval is a smart filly and Pearl Castle won well recently at Doncaster.
Morning, pilgrims. Nothing for me today although I was interested in The Job Is Right at Clonmel prior to its abandonment. He was in over hurdles again though rather than the fences that, as Iâve said before, Iâm keen to see him over. Could connections be so bold as to debut him in the NH Chase at the Festival (in a race heâs entered in and his barn has won before). Long Run is confirmed for Kelso tomorrow (3.55) â what a lovely treat for the locals, methinks. But My Tent or Yours will remain in his barn and now heads straight, I say straight, to the Festival. Long Run is 17 pounds, 36 pounds and 70 pounds âwell inâ with his 3 rivals though so donât expect much of a price tomorrow re Mr Hendersonâs champion.
How "stiff" are the fences up there? Is the forum's favourite Corinthian the appointed saddle monkey?
As oddy states, decs for Fred Winter aren't out. After Doncaster - 08Jan14 Doncaster ( 17 GS ,RPR109 ) \bForced Family Fun\p had run in three races in which they cantered. They went a better gallop today and he settled well. We´ll consider the Fred Winter. - John Quinn, trainer.
