    Morning Everyone,

You know things are not looking good when you lose 1-0 away to Brighton, and are quite happy with the result.

There are 5 points between where we sit and a play off place, and unless Cellino has a magic wand, we may have to wait til next year if we want any chance of realistically going up!!!

The goal itself was disappointing. There was good work down the wing for Brighton, and a hopeful ball was launched low into the box, the Brighton striker, though marked by two defenders took a touch, and toe poked it past a static Kenny!

    https://mtc.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/FE...p4?versionId=XJvT4fWY6QVxg556g9cM2RlQoQP9rIaQ

It just is not good enough.

    Its time for a cull.

Should should stay, who should go?

Illness forced Cellino to miss the match last night, but is scheduled to meet up with Football chiefs in London today regarding the ownership of his new club Leeds Utd

Morning all. Just thinking after last night how lucky we are to have found someone willing to put up the money Cellino will need. 25m to buy club, 15 for ground and 20 to clear outstanding debts and put club on a sound financial footing. Then the realisation he has inherited only a handful of worthwhile players, the rest shouldn't be allowed buy a Leeds shirt let alone wear them. Surely another 10 to 15m minimum to turn squad into promotion contenders next season and not just play off contenders. Have a feeling though, if takeover goes through, he'll be moving quickly. None of this stuff of slowly building from the youths, he'll want into the pl asap

Morning Elland. 5pts isn't that bad, but you maybe right on this not being our year. The planning and culling in advance of next year has already started with the imminent departures of Varney and Green. No one's talking about White. So I assume he isn't pulling up trees wherever he's now playing. Hunt got a few minutes of game time yesterday in a game he could have started in. So maybe his future isn't assured at ER. Time will tell.

Last week was a strange one, I was one of the few who didn't mind BmD getting the sack. I didn't agree with how it was done mind you. I said come the end of the season I believe more fans will be calling for a change, I don't now believe BmD will last that long.

Nice guy, real gent but that doesn't win you games and it really is time for the under performers to be shipped out or if the pockets are deep enough paid off.

Poleon is always on the bench, Diouff suddenly appeared ahead of him, yesterday Diouff nowhere and both Smith and Hunt were ahead of Poleon in the pecking order. Stewart and Kebe fail to impress for me Stewart slightly better both on 93 day loans Stewart sent back we keep Kebe.

I don't believe the manager knows what is best any longer....

Not saying I agree with an owner who buys players he likes and expects a coach to get them working as a team but when you put it like this Eire you can maybe understand why he likes that approach

Eire, I'm not sure that we're that far away from being an auto promotion team tbh. We clearly need someone to partner Ross. Smith is a good impact sub & will get his fair share of goals from wherever he starts. Rudi & AN Other from within the current squad are good enough to anchor the midfield. Mowatt and Murphy will develop. Kebe and Stewart are slowly improving, although we've put Stewart's loan on hold for a week or two to ensure he's still with us if we make the play offs. Byram and Warnock are easily good enough for this level and probably the PL as well. Of the 4 CBs we've got plus Peltier, there's enough to competeat this level. Beginning to think Kenny's days are numbered. He's also the only player in the squad without anyone really challenging him for his place.

All in all, 3 to £5m should be enough to get us up next season if we don't make it this season.

Regarding BMcD I have always thought he was great, but started having 2nd thoughts through Xmas and january when we got battered by everyone. I compare our squad to the likes of Derby and Burnley as they haven't got rich owners or parachute payments like the others. However Burnley have been fantastic and are on for auto and Derby are going brilliantly since brolley man took over. We have gone backwards and even though we just won a couple of games it cannot hide the fact that something is missing. I'm willing to blame problems behind the scenes but if its not then I'm afraid we may need a new boss

Boggers on paper those players you mention are good enough but they continue to under perform far too many times. Apart from Kenny I am okay with the defence, we do not create or score enough from midfield.

I would have Austin Mowatt and Murphy on the bench and a whole new midfield and a prolific partner for Ross. Agree Smith on the bench but I believe we are 6 players short and more importantly we need shot of Varney Hunt White Morrison Green Diouff Tonge Dury Norris

On that note is Dury the biggest waste of a wage since the othe left back we signed from Swansea?

We've also got to take into consideration that the likes of Derby and Burnley weren't raped and pillaged by their owners for a decade. We're so far behind and trying to pull things back on track, still without proper financial support given to BMD from GFH, that we haven't been able to build.

I'm not disagreeing that we should have managed better than we did in recent games over the xmas period but when we sell all our best players year in year it puts us at a disadvantage. Derby have managed to keep hold of young Will Hughes haven't they? <cheers>

I was also thinking about BMs position overnight

I cant see how he can survive to manage us next season. That's not to be over critical, just an assessment of the risks and opportunities. I am sorry for the man as I don't believe he ever had much of a chance

Because- inherited the results of NWs year with no chance to move most on until this summer, after KB s regime had sold off nearly all the players with real talent, starting with Delph and onwards; probably expected more funds from a club of Leeds size and fade to strengthen and notably failed to get in wingers

Obviously the signings are down to BM but I suspect he has had to tailor them harshly to the cash available

After all that he did quite well with a sub standard squad until we imploded

With new owner, unless he can now get this squad playing I would be surprised if he is trusted with next season

Am sorry, think he's going to be the latest manager to suffer from the Leeds disease of expectations massively greater than resources

But which of you can see him as manager next Christmas? (And I'd like him to be, with the successs that would imply, btw)

Midfield is the problem area for me. We get out passed, we give the ball away cheaply, we invite pressure. You will leak goals, no matter how good your defence. And going forward we feed on scraps and create little. If we're playing 442, you expect to be open if 2 of your midfielders are wingers, but would expect to create more.. It Doesn't work if you don't have the ball... With 5 across the middle we still don't seem to have an outlet and still get done on possession stats and chances created.

Either our midfielders aren't as good as some think or our manager can't find the right way to get the best out of them. Probably both.

    Morning All

I'd like a good culling come the summer, there's a lot of crap collecting a wage for being **** how ever if McD is still in charge by the end of the season his signings will stay. Would like to keep Ross, Mowatt and Byram but if somebody comes in with silly money for Mowatt and Byram wouldn't stand in the way so to speak.

    end of contract list:

Pugh, Drury, Ashdown, Brown, Cairns wth Stewart and Kebe's loans expiring

Kebe has let me down. Told everyone on that would listen he was going to be a cracking signing. Just another loan signing we can put on the scrap heap. Lets hope we have learnt that loans 90% of the time dont work. There the cheap option for a reason!

    Morning all <ok>
