Absolutely he did but i guess he thought having a left sided player rather than two right sided players was a better option for balance- oh i don't know

Played well at Cardiff, played well tonight - lost both games, playing well don't mean you win games - Championship here we come, im GUTTED. Can't see us staying up now, you won't stay up by loseing to team around us, just not good enough. Can you really see us getting the point we need to stay up - i really can't now.

But as soon has he came on we looked to play the ball in the air, West Ham were never gonna concede from a header they're to good in the air, when Hooper was on we were getting he ball to feet and creating chances, once Elmander came on we didn't really create another chance. It was poor tactics plain and simple. wolf would have been a far better option then.

It's individual mistakes costing us, but it's the message from the bench that seems to be leading to them.

Hooper was worrying West Ham, Elmander wouldn't worry a pub league defence. All that substitution did was allow West Ham to push further up, handing them the initiative. RvW would have been a far better option, if the change needed making at all. Redmond going off had the same effect, we had no pace, and West Ham punished us.

If Hughton hadn't changed anything, I'm almost certain we'd have got a point.

Agree with you there mate, either the guy is insane or he's a tactically inept sh*t manager, which is it?

    We're going down boys.

We have slowly been sinking the whole season and now we are right in the jaws of it. Bowing out slowly.

No one can say the didn't see it coming it has been happening all season, good performance but again we take **** all from it. Well done.

Let's see Hughton standing up being his usual charming self praising the hammers and being positive after the event again shall we? Makes me ****ing sick to my stomach.

What has that got to do with anything?

We lost because of poor individual errors, hard as it maybe to take its as simple as that. Should of scored at least one of our chances, shouldn't of conceded a sloppy goal.

You can indeed say the players were to blame tonight but the manager brought them to the club. Only Hooper has scored or looks likely to and Hughton takes him off for the useless Elmander. Matt le Tissier has just said that we were dominating and Hughton's negative substitutions changed it. Gave the emphasis to West Ham.

You can you see the stats for yourself around number of wins, goals scored, goal difference.....etc. The bottom line is change should have happened months ago or at least brought in a couple of players in January to remedy the situation. The board did nothing. We can only hope something miraculous happens but I cannot see anything changing. Now only 1 point from the bottom 3.

I have been saying we are going down for a few weeks now on here & been shot down a peg or too, & that Hughton should have been sacked, again shot down a peg or too, sadly i have been proved right so far as i really can't see us staying up now - really gutted.

Since we got our back 4 back from months of injuries, no one has scored against us, although you really should have, there's worse than you in this league though, so I wouldn't worry too much until april

Errr no, we lost because our f**king useless manager took off 2 of the wrong players at the wrong time to play for a draw giving west ham the impetus they needed to press higher up the pitch!

Does anyone think that it was right to take Hooper and Redmond off when he did? Really?

I want to be positive but we've thrown away games to Fulham, Cardiff and now West Ham when in winning/good positions. Sorry, but Hughton's thinking doesn't deserve Premiership football as shown with his ridiculous substitutions tonight. It isn't going to change.

At a push, I could accept the Redmond switch, but I did raise an eyebrow all the same. Pilkington, if he gets a chance has a far better chance of taking it imo, so that I could live with. Elmo on for Hooper? Laughable. Even swapping him for RVW would have been pretty bad under the circumstances (unless Hooper was injured)

I am angry right now because we should be talking about an away win or draw at the least.

Goals are almost always conceded due to individual mistakes or individual class. The problem today was that west ham could see that we made two defensive mistakes, they looked delighted that redmond went off as he had been a constant terror to them and the fact that after the subs we offered so little up front meant that we brought west ham back on us. you loose games for two reasons conceding goals and not scoring them, you can't blame Hughton for the fact that we conceded but you can that we weren't in a position to come back and score once we went 1 down.
