He's coaching Westella and Willerby Juniors and I think he goes to watch his lad Jack play regularly.
Basically a gentleman of leisure then? He made a good living from the game. He came over as being very level headed so probably invested well and can live off the investment.
shame Allam pissed him off, to have someone like that in a background role would've been nice for the club (obviously had he not already been manager)
At the meeting with AA, he said he liked Nick very much and Nick liked him. I'm not so sure Nick agrees.
What, you mean he misread someone's strength of feeling about something and / or deliberately misinterpreted it when making a public statement? Sounds pretty out of character to me.
. His other son George is at derby county so his talent has obviously been passed down to his boys. Plays quite a bit of golf around the local courses too, something I think he finds a bit more challenging than his football. At only 40 bit of a waste he's not in football(professionally)
I didn't know he was at Derby, he's just tweeted his old man a message... George BarmÃy ‏@georgebarms Happy 40th birthday dad pic.twitter.com/Auc2yhShzt
They are looking at moving George to Scunthorpe, he has been at Derby well over a year now. Oh, and he doesn't like AA!!
Beyond published comments that were said to be a factor in Nick Barmby's sacking what, if anything, do forum members know about what happened behind the scenes? Do tell! I've heard rumours of a confrontation.
Anything posted on here will just be called as hearsay. There are some members on here who know Nick well and therefore know what he has said has gone on, but there is nothing to be gained by dragging it all out again.
if you don't believe him, check his CV... Career Highlights: 2011/12 Awarded Nick Barmby an excellent opportunity to manage my football club. He refused to spend my money on the striker Billy Sharp. I wanted Billy Sharp but since nobody has the right to question my decisions, Nick Barmby became a friend rather than an employee. He likes me very much and sees me as a father figure.
