What I cannot understand is why Farnham/Pearson think they can afford the club now when they couldn't before. It must now be so obvious that the club is in danger of administration yet they still want to pick over the bones, why? They don't have the cash to buy the club and pay the debts s why bother. If they were fans they would hope that the Italian deal happens so that the club is safe? Don't get it unless they are not really fans at all and just the usual investors who see a profit. So obvious liars too. Haigh is a liar and way to close to GFH Capital for me and we can now see what they were doing. The whole thing is a mess and a major embarrassment for the club and fans alike. Strange how we can now only see one way out and thats by allowing the Italian Ken Bates buy the club. If it comes off at least this time it will be true .... He saved us
People are still complaining about some of our players, its the way of football, nothing is ever good enough.
Sorry you feel like that Billy, your a valued poster. I cant influence peoples positivity as people’s opinions are exactly that, but I can assure you that I’m not happy with the play ground style slagging off on a personal level that’s been happening recently and I'm not scared of making difficult or unpopular decisions to keep this place ticking over. If you feel the need too, PM me
Billy, of course there's lots of negativity. As fans, we've been serially abused & neglected by a number of people for years now. What do you expect? Open arms trust for anyone who talks the talk? Nope, dangerous, especially with our track record of being hurt. Like anyone who's been abused, it takes a while to build up trust, and an almost automatic brake applied to anything that in any way relates to positivity. You must realise this at heart. You're talking about a fanbase that for 10 years has been cowed, tortured, ridiculed, defrauded, insulted etc. The list goes on. As always, this will only apply to the majority, but you seem to be one of the ones that is desperate for positivity & has embraced it solidly. Not sure if that makes you lucky or not. We'd like to join you, but we've been there before & got hurt again, hence our current reticence. One day though, all will be good. We must always keep a hold of this thought. As for politics, don't read too much into us calling Haigh 'Tory Boy'. It's actually a statement of fact with no animosity behind it. Relax!
I've met Billy before and had a few pints with him, found him to be sound, had his opinions, but would listen to others. Surprised he would throw the towel in on 606 just over a few difference of opinions.
****ing hell, all I was saying was maybe the money for the ladies team would have been better spent paying the local suppliers first. How do they feel seeing £1m go towards the ladies team when they haven't been paid since October. As for using Arsenal as an example, they're a very well run club, so no comparison. I'm sure they haven't got a half finished astro pitch.
He will return Shaks Hes a good lad had a few laughs with him.hes just under a bit of pressure reguarding the club he loves send him a valentines card cheer him up
A half finished astro turf that could cost the accadamy 2nd tier status no less! I'm sure it was a collective of issues rather than what you posted LIE. Its a stressfull time being a Leeds fan for everyone involved with the club. Except for Boggers, nothing gets him down, well except for Wakey
Maybe there should be some party line we can all learn off by heart and repeat constantly. That way there will be no differing of opinions, slagging or discussion. That should make for a hell of a forum
Bucks you going tonight mate? I'm driving down and apparently there's nowhere to park near the ground Everyone has to use the park and ride
The common subject causing tension on the board just seems to be about opinions on people involved in the scenario at the club - which is understandable given there is so little information to work with for people to make judgements on. From here and elsewhere, our support at the moment just seems to be suffering from anxiety. Given the situation I'm not exactly surprised. Wouldn't worry too much though, folks will probably be acting less crazy when/if we get a new owner as it'll give everyone something to focus on. Btw that wasn't aimed at your post BillysStatue, I think your post was well balanced (even some of the rant ) and I totally agree with the point about the ladies team. I'm involved with my local club over here in N.I and have seen it from both the inside and out. What a club is and will be is going to have to change and adapt, Arsenal in that regards are probably leading the way, as are a lot of fan owned clubs at lower levels who have had to to survive and haven't been quite as sheltered as many top flight clubs in terms of being able to depend on TV revenues and sponsorship etc, so feel the changes in social attitudes much sooner. Hopefully whoever takes the club forward understands the long term importance of developing the ladies game within the brand of the club.
There park and ride is meant to be very good. Being a new staduim the connections probably arent in place to handle the ammount of traffic that could turn up on a match day. Heres a tip for you park in nearby Stanmer Park. It is free and is only a 5-10 minute walk under the underpass, up over the bridge at Falmer Stadium and you are at the stadium. Tap the post code on the Amex in your phone and walk from there, although your probably see a croud making its way there anyway. Or just park and ride No, I'm not going to this one. Its kind of sneaked up on me as I was intending on going this year. One of the wall fans is based in Brighton, is it Tommy? He maybe able to help you with parking etc. I've spent enough time in Brighton this year (working not playing before Mighty and TC comment!)
Get this week out the way and we can hopefully all be on the same wave length. Loving Cellino because he is the new owner and has brought our ground back or Hating him because he lied and his first action as new owner is to install Festa as the new manager Working could be considered just as bad
A few common beliefs that all of us have: We cannot trust any bastard over the last 10-years because every one of them have robbed us, shafted us, lied to us and abused us. Therefore Billy that will make it impossible for a 100% agreement about the direction we should take, after what we've learned this last couple of weeks. Yes there is still some people at both extremes of the argument who will not budge their view. The majority however are of the same/similar opinion
Imagine if it had been revealed nine months ago gfh had borrowed 1m off Ken to pay wages. Id imagine even their die hard fans would have abandoned them there and then
There would certainly have been a bit of a stushie! Funny how they can keep some things quiet, eh? Not a whisper or suspicion anywhere.
I still can't understand why Ken said yes after them kicking him out of his short lived club president role.
