They played 120 minutes against Sheffield United mid week then 90 minutes of chasing the ball at Old Trafford on Sunday. Plus their record signing isn't fit.

Stinks of Fulham trying to get themselves a decent rest. Liverpool should tell them we'll send a bus load or two of stewards to make sure the game is on IMO.

Unless all other games in London are called off then no way this should be.

How can it affect Fulham but not Arsenal?

Now Fulham fans will have gone to work etc. before the match so there's no logical reason why they can't get to the match despite a tube strike. I remember in the 60s going to Anfield on a Wednesday night for an FA Cup replay against the Spuds during a bus strike - and fewer of us had cars then!

So the Premiership should decline any such request. Would it effect us - well yes. We are on a high and would want to continue that!

Supposed to be a decision made at 3pm tomorrow, but the Premier League website has wiped it off their fixture banner.

Fulham should forfeit the points because alternative transport is available.<grr>

Yeah but they're worried about them getting there on time and there's only 43 hours until kick off <doh> <doh> <doh>

Fulham being sneaky little ****s, here. As mentioned, they are trying to get a little break after their last two games. If we (60,000) can manage to get our game on, they have no excuses.

We should pay for limousines to and from work for every Fulham steward

With all the evidence at hand, the FA should deduct them all three points if Fulham manage to call this game off.

What's the betting if FA don't call it off that they tell their stewards to stay away and then say an hour before kick off, we have no stewards so can't go ahead and **** everyone off!

Because the press would be all over it like a rash and for a few quid some of the stewards would tell what had happened. Then Fulham would be ejected from the Premiership and the FA would demote them to the Conference

not an expert on london as i don't like the place, but having visited the ruddy place, do they think the tube is the only transport available or something?

so tube strike fulham want to call off a FOOTBALL MATCH! yet when they get bombed they carry on as though nothing happened and all still manage to go to work!

sort it out Fulham, you are putting the decent people living in london to shame with this ****e!

if your scared just give us the 3pts now lol, but we need to know asap as billy has a train to catch before you come out with your crap whether its on or not.

can i just ask why 3pm decision will be made? yet billy is getting a train before that time, no one realize or care what time some people (ie away fans) have to leave to get to the match, ****s!

    Fulham v Liverpool: Important update

The following statement has been released this evening by Fulham Football Club.

"Following a number of enquiries regarding how the potential London Underground strike action may affect Wednesday evening's fixture against Liverpool, the club can confirm that it is currently proceeding on the basis that the game will go ahead.

"However, the club has concerns over the potential impact that the strike may have on the ability of its safety staff to attend the ground in sufficient time and numbers to ensure that it is able to open the ground and effectively operate it, from the time that the gates are open to the public until the departure of all supporters.

"After consulting with the Local Authority and the Metropolitan Police, it has been decided that if the proposed action is still undetermined at 3pm tomorrow (Tuesday), and the club cannot guarantee enough staff are available to attend the ground in sufficient time and numbers, then as a consequence the club would not be able to comply with the terms of its safety certificate and the fixture would be postponed and rescheduled for a future date.

"A further statement will be released at 3pm tomorrow to confirm whether the game will go ahead or be postponed."

A Liverpool Football Club spokesperson said: "We will inform supporters through our official channels as soon as more information becomes available regarding the fixture.

"The safety and well-being of supporters has to be the paramount concern of everyone involved in this process."

I find it a terrible excuse. fulham have away fans (some) they therefore have offical away day trips. they should have access to a bus company. Lay on busses and ask these stewards to assemble around places and coach them in... very simple.

In the end who does it suit?

well if lfc lose in the fa cup then we could drop this match in on 6th round or semi final day and it would suit us too.

however.... it really suits fulham as people have alluded to in fitness so the thing should just go ahead on the day it falls on and circumstances be damned.

there is no mention of fans getting there which is really rich.

its only about a couple hundred stewards.

Slight defence to the Fulham players, but it could well be a mass case of neck ache from looking up at the sky for 90 minutes on Sunday!

Manc bashing aside, this does seem incredibly dodgy to put it politely.

No doubt, they know it's not a good time to play this fixture.

Given our season there is never a good time to play - although having said that getting you on the back of a 5-1 victory could work in our favour - the Liverpool players must be confused looking at the league now and will presumably capitulate in the next few games to get out the top 4 and back to where the lads are more comfortable!

In all seriousness, I'd say the game is off. Our statement is prepping for it - most dedicated to the reasons why it wouldn't be played. I don't think a resolution is likely by 3pm. Would like for it to go ahead as midweek kick offs are always good fun.

Liverpool owner John W Henry has waded into the row over the possible postponement of their match at Fulham.
The Cottagers have warned the match could be called off because of strike action on the London Underground.
"Arsenal, West Ham and Leyton Orient all ready for the strike but not Fulham?" tweeted the Reds' principal owner.
