How about Lego as the word for somebody who falls between a legend and a hero?

Nolan is a Toon Lego! Quite a nice ring to it if you ask me!

I dont completely agree with you here, Tash but can totally see where you're coming from nonetheless.

You've made your point very well and I think this the best article you've made by a long way. Good stuff <ok>

Kevin Nolan was my favorite player. He is a true leader and a solid player who i really admired. I have many toon kits, but none with a player's name... and this season I was planning on buying a Nolan #4 kit.
Pretty bad day for this silly Toon-lovin' Yank.

Did good things for our club and will always be welcomed back up here BUT sorry he is not worth £50K a week minimum for 5 years.

I would say semi-legend. Not quite up there with the Shearers, Robsons, and Milburns, but in the tier below along with the likes of Given, Harper and Solano.

I think the fact that most of the people considered 'legends' at our club spent most of their career at Newcastle, but people are calling Nolan a legend after 3 years. Shows the impact he had I suppose.

Just saw a good joke on sickipedia

"Kevin Nolan is having a medical at West Ham.

Presumably he's getting his head examined."

Did a great job(not in his first half season though!), but was sadly a limited midfielder and we as a club are hopefully moving onwards and upwards, he knew this so chose to leave to get first team football. Not quite a legend but THAT hat trick has cemented him a place in history. As Joey said, he reached 'iconic' status.

Can't knock Nolan, he played a massive part in most things if not everything good about Newcastle over the last 2 years. I'll certainly not forget his hat-trick vs the unwashed. (It led to me getting my Mrs up the Damien that night!) He will be a big loss but I think we will move on quite quickly

Wonder if Cabaye takes his Number 4 or not

    This <ok>

I do agree that he left because he knew he wouldn't be as influential this season, and i do think he does need that role in a club.

I know some people are unhappy with the sale but the way I see it is, the only club that wanted Nolan is WHU. Kind of sums it up really.

    Good luck Big Kev.

Wish him the best of luck, with no hostility at all.
