We all know MoPo is the best manager of all time ever, but who's your favourite of the rest (preferably for a combination of managerial ability as well as likability) and why? 15 options, so I eliminated Solksjaer, Monk, Mel, Meulensteen, and Sherwood because I deemed them to be the least likely to be discussed due to their novelty to the league.

Bruce for me. Such honest assessments, a really good footballing guy and a great manager too.

Used to be Wenger but the past 5yrs all he does is moan. So has to be Martinez for me.

Yep totally agree with Bruce. Great guy, always really reasonable, honest and he is a really good PL manager. Mourinho is obviously a class act. Martinez is also very likeable, and plays positive football.

Good thread. Got to be Brendan Rodgers for me, I'm a massive fan of his and really like his Liverpool side.

Saints aside, the team I look forward to watching most is definitely Liverpool. I admire his philosophy and he usually handles things well.

And Rodgers is great as well. Really built a terrific side at Liverpool, plays brilliant, exciting football, and he is a good guy.

Went for Jose. Purely because he's the best manager. And I love his mind games and winding people/the media up. I feel like he could turn any side into winners.

Love Martinez, Bruce and Rodgers as well though!

I'm a bit meh [if that is the correct use of the expression] on all of them. There are one or two who I probably don't like, on the whole, but then they make me laugh occasionally, so it's all a bit meh again.
I respect them all for the jobs they do, but that doesn't mean I have to like or dislike them. Probably Pardew, as he was a successful Saints manager with a sense of humour, but I agree Steve Bruce is an honest likeable chappie. We'll see how really likeable he is after tomorrow night. :)

I'm hoping we're Hull's bogey team. Beaten them 3 times in 3 years.

Me <laugh> Personally I'd go for Bruce, mistreated at Sunderland and doing a great job at Hull.

Brendan Rodgers was great at Swansea but has turned Liverpool back into a top 4 team. I voted for him but Steve Bruce would be a close second.

I just realised I don't really like any of them now that Laudrup is gone. I guess Bruce because he seems nice.

Martinez for managerial reasons but has to be Bruce for likability and a great first season.

I wasn't keen on Laudrup either. I saw an interview with Nigel Adkins the other day. Didn't tug at anything. I suppose it'll be the same if and when Poch moves on, though from this perspective it's tough to think so.
