We can agree to disagree. Watford should have scored again at 0-2 (maybe 1-2?) and apart from the last 5-10 mins of playing time you didn't look like scoring. Nugent should have scored late on, but he didn't. You were not playing the flowing, expansive football that you have been playing previously. I detect a nervous wobble!

... that's fair enough <ok> ... in a daft way I'm pleased that the winning run has come to an end (I'll accept the pelters <laugh>) because part of the pressure was arguably on keeping it going, setting a new club record etc etc and also having teams even more up for being the one to end our run ... it could, somewhat surprisingly, actually work in our favour, who knows, ... but that's the beauty of it ... we won't know until we run out against Forest ... but that's a game that we should need very little motivation to get 'up for' ...

A draw has to be the best result for you. It's a massive game for us. If we have any ambition to win the league then we must keep the pressure on you which means winning tonight. A draw will not be the end of the world but would possibly suit Derby better than us.
Leicester have been very consistent this year and rightly deserve to be flying high at the top of the league. You have rode your luck at times but seem to have developed a knack of late winners. Our extensive injury list is starting to hurt and how we cope with this will IMO decide our faith. We have had a consistent back 4/5 all season and this has made us very solid but we have constantly chopped and changed our midfield which has resulted in a serious lack of creativity and goals. Our manager has IMO picked certain players and played them out of position just to accommodate them in our team. It's almost like he will eventually get there regarding team selection and formations.

Agree RTID...looking at the table, we could end up 10 or 11 points off top with a game in hand, or 8 points with a game in hand. 11 points is a big gap. We need a win...COYRS!!!

I wouldn't agree nuts, Derby need to close the gap and we would be ok with it staying the same. Also a draw puts us back into 2nd, after 2 difficult games that wouldn't be bad at all. I think Derby really need to come at us tonight, winning would really throw them back into the mix.

For me : Draw good result - Win excellent result - Loss not the end of the world but does put us on the top of a slippery slope.

    Interesting.

As for the game I've got a bad feeling about this one. After shipping 3 against Burnley and now coming up against the leagues highest scorers(?), I'm not overly confident. Would be very happy with a draw.

And the worst defence of the top 14 clubs; 8th worst in the League

Only 1 clean sheet in the last 14 games

Interesting tonight to see if Doyle can keep up the good form he showed against Burnley, with decent service from Kranjcar and Barton. Also to see if there's more improvement from Traore - so much better higher up the pitch. He could really earn his wages in the run up to the end of the season. And I'd like to see Hughes play (finally I can type that name in a QPR context without gritted teeth)

The more I think about the game tonight, the more I fancy us to win. Certainly think we will score, maybe a couple....if we can keep their front 2 quiet we'll be ok.

They may score goals but they also conceed....

Lose tonight and the pressure on your lot will increase a few notches as the closing pack hunt you down and close in on you.
Win and you make a statement that you are genuine automatic candidates, as not been very convincing last few weeks at all.
All set up for a good game. Derby win for me I think 2-1

Err....and Leicester have been convincing eh? How many 1-0's was it over the last few weeks? Leicester have been as convincing as we were when we were winning 1-0 earlier in the season......

At the end of the day its the results that matter and yes 3 points tonight will do us no harm at all plus it pulls you lot back to 8 points with a game in hand.....

Indeed Miami it is very impressive 28 points from 30, that's why you should be a shoo in from an automatic spot......but still plenty of twists to come over the next 2 months or so.....

Out of interest if you had injuries to Nugent, Vardy & Dyer would you have adequate cover to maintain your form.....genuine question

I agree Tramore, a hell of a long way to go yet and we will get nervous the closer it gets to the end of the season.
We are in a great position and it is ours to throw away now, fingers crossed we dont self destruct. Plenty of twists and turns for sure.

Regarding your question over injuries, we had a recent thread with our fans on this regarding who we would miss the most with a bad injury. I went for our captain big Wes Morgan, who is an absolute rock for us at the back. We just lost Liam Moore with a broken rib which was a shame as he is a huge talent for so young, but we had a Polish international (Wasiliewski) to step in and doing a decent job (though always looks like he will be sent off!!)
We have "decent" cover up front with Chris Wood, Jeff Schlupp, Kevin Phillips, Taylor Fletcher all able to step in.
We just signed anothr French winger, Mahrez to compliment Dyer, Knockeart. Also have Schlupp that could do a job on the wing so we are pretty set I think.
Hopefully you wont suffer any more injury setbacks, I think you have had more than your quota for this season!
All the best and goodl uck at Derby tonight! :emoticon-0167-beer:

Nuge is not the best finisher at the club by any means but his all round contribution has been excellent this sason ... Vardy has been great, really unsettles opposing defenders and has won many a penalty this season due to sheer pace ... Lloyd Dyer has had the season of his life ... so yes I think we would miss each of them BUT

Chris Wood is on the bench and when he first joined us last season was scoring for fun ... Jeff Schlupp is a prolific goalscorer at youth level although we have tended to use him as a left wing back / full back ... then there is a certain Kevin Phillips and also Gary Taylor-Fletcher (who has an excelent first touch) ... in terms of replacing Lloyd Dyer, we could play Knockaert, Mahrez (who looks a potential gem) or indeed Schlupp in the wide left position if need be...

... in a nutshell, we have a better squad depth than for many years, so I would hope the loss of a player (or even two) through injury would be something we could cope with.

Cheers lads......Sounds as if Pearson has built a decent squad with enough to get you over the line in the unfortunate situation that a few of your players did suffer an injury.....I'm sure that this run of form will give you sufficient space even if you have a wobble or 2.....

Right I'm off to meet a few mates in Waterford to watch the match......
