Sorry plastic, I don't mean this nastily, but anyone with common sense will know it was not a board signing. Our board do not splash out £12m if they can get away with it, and if they were happy to spend £12m on a striker (like some claim by him being aboard signing), they do not come out later on and moan about paying that much for him.
Nobody said he was quoted saying anything , I see reading isn't your strong suit . He can put the " rumour " to bed by saying it's groundless in the press , where the rumour started . If he doesn't , the pointing at the ground is merely backtracking , Much like Shelvey's deleted tweets
That may be true, but it's all water under the bridge now. I don't know why anyone cares so much about who signed him. I know it may affect the Breezy debate about whether he's likely t stay or go, but are we really going to spend the rest of the season debating who signed him and if he's staying or going? Seems like a pointless debate. But I suppose you're all free to have the debate if you want. But it's not really a debate, but more like a pantomime. Oh no he didn't... Oh yes he did.
Swanselona you seriously need to look at the way you address people. I have no issue with Breezey. He's the one who keeps maintaining he knows the ins & outs of Bony's intentions. I commented on what I knew, he made out that I didn't have a clue, so I thought yeh no bother mate, you believe what you want, as in 'whatever'!! So you decided you'd chip in with your little bit.... Can't see what the problem was with my response to you too!! If you believe what you believe, carry on mate, some of us have maybe an alternative opinion....
In your last comment you said that Bony said something to someone. So how do you know that if there's no quote anywhere. You're just making things up.Had enough of discussing Bony, so no more from me on that topic. But hope you all enjoy your debate.
You commented on what you knew, which was that Bony was a board signing, which is why I responded that I think you are wrong, and that it couldn't possibly be a board signing as they openly criticised paying that much for him. It is you who came out with the childish response of "believe what you want to believe" which adds nothing to the debate whatsoever, neither did your "whatever" response. If I want to receive responses like that, I will talk to my 6 year old niece and nephew.
Of course it's a board signing every signing is a board signing as they have the final say if they didn't want Bony they wouldn't have sanctioned it. All signings at swansea are discussed by the manager, scouts coaches etc and put to the board who then make the final decision. With regard to HJ saying he had sleepless nights before signing Bony is true I was there when he made the statement but it was partly said tongue in cheek with a smile on his face. He just does what's best for club and the signing of Bony was clearly the correct one. Why on earth people say Bony should deny the ridiculous claims being made in these crap reader seeking rumours is pointless. Michu is still with us and how many rumours on him leaving have we seen. Bony made his intentions clear in his goal celebration yesterday. If people think he's lying then he could just as easily go in front of the cameras and lie, so what's the point. Absolute none sense.
Of course technically all signings are board signings, but you know we are on about something different. N'Gog and Emnes for example are clear board signings, they had been after Emnes from before ML's tenure. The lieks of Michu, Pablo, Bony for example are then classed as ML's signings. Not board signings. They as you say santion the deal, but they were not the targets of the board, but that of the manager.
All I've said is if he doesn't refute the rumour in the press I think he said something to someone about wanting to leave , it's called an opinion.
Just because you replied in a civil manner trying to defend your original response to me, does not change the fact that I still found your initial response childish.
I hate seeing two great posters fighting over nothing , swansalona and swan flyer, leave it and get back to what you both do best and debate topics cheers
Get something straight mate, I don't need to explain or defend any of my responses to you. I merely made a point, that my responses to my original claim were certainly not childish, just the immediate response to people who dismissed on what I know about the Bony signing!! You see it as you feel. We all have an opinion, just because it differs to yours....
When he scored against Cardiff he ran to the fans and shouted "here". He made a big statement about wanting to stay, that was his way of coming out and refuting this rumour, now he just needs to follow through on that.
Apparently one of the reasons for Laudrup 's sacking was not wanting to take Ince , Holtby or Chadli on loan which infuriated Jenkins . How dare Laudrup for wanting to build his team without intervention , no wonder he got sacked lol.
All wishful thinking goodland , believe whatever is convenient but I will need a straightforward refute in the media , not a gesture , to put this rumour to bed . If not , then I believe he started this whole thing off by saying something to someone about wanting out. The pointing at the ground was backtracking to try to cover up his displeasure at Laudrup's sacking and trying to save face in front of the fans. If he doesn't say anything in the media , it will because he doesn't want to lie in front of them.
I remember Laudrup apparently being pissed off that we didn't stump up the money for Aspas, then went and spent double on Bony. I also remember reading that Bony wasn't a ML signing and that's why he struggled to adapt a style to suit Bony.
So Jenkins came out in the press and complained about spending 12 million on Bony, his signing . Shake your head valley and tell us if you here anything lol
But Chadli was one of the players that Laudrup desperately wanted in the summer - he was one of the ones he was annoyed at us for missing. Also, I admit there are many ways for a player to voice loyalty (even writing that word makes me feel naive): * signing a new contract. * Official clear statement to the press- preferably in a conference setting with witnesses! * In person to the fans. I would prefer the first two, but it isn't him being silent on the matter. There is a danger that we fall on one side or the other - either Laudrup or Jenkins was a genius/buffoon. The truth is probably a bit of both but, most importantly, there was that clash of personalities. Ultimately, Laudrup was here short term, he admitted that and I respect his honesty on that, but Jenkins is and has been here on the long hall. As such, for the long term benefit of the club, in a choice either/or for the benefit of the club it had to be Jenkins. I'm sure Laudrup will go on to do well at other clubs but if he doesn't fit with the club then that is what had to happen. Doesn't mean one or the other's a mug. It's like signing a flair player for the old Stoke - he'll fail but not necessarily because he is a bad player. Meaning it's best for player and club sometimes to go different directions - they clearly could not work together. There was clearly something not right with how the team was playing. People knock the winter signings but Emnes will do a lot more for us as a flexible sub than Alvaro or Schecter and, with no other options, he'll turn out alright. I think saying Jenkins was faultless really isn't true as there have been clear mess-ups (summer and winter signings didn't run smoothly, plus the Ki incident etc) but, likewise, Laudrup's team had not been playing as it originally did for a whole year. Some of his choices (like Amat in midfield) really were not good ideas and he tolerated too much sloppiness with passing. Likewise Jenkins has overseen us getting here, repeatedly finding the right manager, whilst Laudrup won us our first major trophy. Best of luck to both of them, and respect, and I hope they are proud of their achievement and learn from their mistakes.
