6 of our team played in the Championship. The 7th, Luke Shaw hadn't been born yet. Boruc was a free, Davis cost £800,000. Only Rodriguez and Yoshida cost any real money. The fact that we are disappointed to only get a draw against a tough, disciplined team who have been in the Premier League for a while now, shows just how far we have come in 2 years, let alone 5. Now, if only we could stop wasting money on expensive overseas players with naff haircuts, why shouldn't we be able to progress even further next year?
Thanks TSS, just got round to reading those. He is a real character. Some good comments in there. I liked the reference to Adam as a good captain, giving instructions and I noticed that a lot yesterday. Interesting insight to have him doing that. Glad you posted it up.
We're bound to get it right with one of our dodgy imports eventually. Though it may be no coincidence that Lovren doesn't sport an alice band, facial hair or designer glasses.
Unusual in a game like this, that we didn't pick up any cards once again, is that down to discipline or a lessening of effort. could it be Luke Shaw had the opportunity to take Odemwingie out when he scored, but sensibly, opted not do so knowing it would be a straight red and leaving the team short? All four of Stokes bookings were the "taking one for the team" kind and effectively helped to secure the result. As someone pointed out Chelsea were given a penalty for an off the ball wrestling move, Fonte was victim of an identical tackle and got nothing for it.
Maybe we should only sign foreigners if they're from Northern/ Eastern Europe. They won' let you down. Ice in their veins. Not like those fiery Latinos.
I would pay a lot of money for him to be our long term Boruc replacement. To sweeten the deal Stoke can have everyone who abused him for playing about two Pompey games.
Could this be where Gallagher has a role to play? Clearly more mobile than Lambert, and has pace. Out for obvious reasons yesterday, but could be effective in future. Plus he seems to play more on the last man than Lambert, who tends to drop deeper. Gives us a different option if/when required and allows us to adapt our style of play during a game if it's not working out.
Bless her...just seen Katharina was at the game yesterday. She looked frozen in an Adidas training jacket. Nice to see her taking a real interest in the games as well as the financial side.
Further to yesterday's row over 2-2 result. Man U v Fulham score 2-2 Manure had 75% Fulham had 25%. How could Fulham have not lost 5-0.
Late response, but no! http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...apoli-to-make-move-for-cattermole_134860.html
