Don't forget than in the West Ham game, ML was on the touchline asking Pablo to stay closer to the touchline, so hard to give credit to Monk for that when just the game before ML was giving Pablo orders to do the same thing.

Agree, but I try not to condemn one without condemning the other.

So Monk then deserves credit for getting the players to listen.... Speaks volumes!

What a performance from the team this evening. It was nothing short of breathtaking!!
From the 1st minute to the last, the players to a man worked their absolute socks off!!! Not a 1st half, not a 2nd half, but the whole f@ckin match!!! Do you know why?

    Yes???

They were playing for the manager!!!

Monk, what an introduction anyway!!! But by god, did your player's do yourself, the fans, the club & the board proud!!
I was at the Liberty & I tell you what, the atmosphere at the ground was like nothing I've seen since the Forest play-off semi-final. It was rocking!! The backing & support for Monk & his team, was second to none. For Swans' fans on here, to give still some sort of credit to Laudrup is absolutely shameful. We one that match so convincingly, because he wasn't there..

Its also shameful to not acknowledge that we are where we are today courtesy of that man also, we would have not scored 1 goal tonight if he hadn't given those players the chance to play for us, as each goal had an element of his players involved, from Pablo (purchased) to Routledge (the man he gave a chance).

I guess your also one of those that fails to acknowledge what Sousa did for us also are you?

No matter how bad times got, they have added more to this club that some care to accept. And that for me is what I find shameful.

An extra training session an all is done lol, lot of new faces played a part today coming back from injury , or playing there first game, or Britton playing after sitting. An lots more players are going to trickle back , was a well timed sacking by ruthless Huw. And keep in mind , we were only playing Cardiff .

There were notable differences to the team: 1) the wingers reverted to Brendan-style touch line hugging, 2) the centre halves didn't drift apart as much whilst in possession 3) the quick closing down was back - indeed it was jdg and Hernandez that we're lacking in that regards.

Before you get above your station...

I was on this board Tuesday evening in total shock at Laudrup's sacking!!

To this moment I'm still sad for him, for the way his reign with us has ended. No way did I want him to be sacked at this stage & I spent all pre/post match today offering the same opinion. But As I said then (Tues) & today with fellow jacks, it was probably for the best!! I liked Michael Laudrup, I admired him playing when growing up, but there's no way I feel he could have arrested the decline, that I feel was terminal. I posted this morning I felt Monk would do no less than galvanise the team, that he has done in bucket loads, it was so evident. It might prove to be a big gamble still, by the board. But I know which way I would have put my money.

Another thing, to almost a man today, with very little exception, many Swans' fans I spoke to thought it was the correct decision. Even though, same as me, they felt it was a shame the footballing legend Michael Laudrup's tenure, had to end in a sacking!!!

Finally, I was quite a fan of Sousa's. How dare you assume I was otherwise....

The passing today was with purpose. The closing down was incredible!! The Swans hunted in packs to retrieve the ball back, such commitment that was desperately needed if we are to make sure we retain Premier league status. I feel we can at least get a point at Stoke if we show the same urge. Even better if we could get three!! But I'll take a point now & continue to show the teamwork that was evident this evening.

Very we'll done lads, so so proud this horrible wet night....

As you say, it was how I would have expected us to perform under Laudrup....the difference was we scored, the crowd got really loud and the confidence came back.
...and, as you also say, who provided the assists for the first and the third goals (the first pass was sublime)?
A Laudrup signing....a player who has been slated on here by some....a player who Laudrup himself was denied because of injury.

Well done Garry Monk...it couldn't have gone any better and it must have been exhilarating for him personally.
Hopefully the confidence we'll gain from this will push us on to be mid table, with a decent cushion, by the end of the Palace game in March.
Well done the players for their effort....
    and screw DaiSwan :)

just watched the match as I had a function to go to last night and the apartments had no foxtel. I thought emnes played well, never seen routledge and dyer work harder, Pablo as mentioned previously did exceptional. one thing that does worry me is the pace at the back, there is none. hard to pick a MOM

Hopefully today was just the start to getting back to our old style of football using the full width of the pitch to stretch teams, and using the touchline to the maximum with our wingers, and getting behind the defence, all very positive stuff from our boys and with more training over the next few weeks and fitness levels improving, then it bodes well for us, onwards and Upwards for the Jack Army................<ok>

PS: I've noticed that Bony after scoring shouted and pointed to the Liberty pitch, he shouted 'I'm here' as if to say I'm going nowhere?? That one's for Breezy...................<cheers>

Bony sure did look slightly fired up, pointing to the ground and looking like he was saying 'Here'...I'm not sure he'll be going anywhere just yet
