Chelsea were fantastic last night but I was more pleased for Gary Cahill who was just superb. We have a lot of detractors of his ability on this board and one hopes that last nights performance will win them over. JT himself praised Gary during the match and after his superb start to the season he and Terry are fast forming what is becoming the defensive fortress of Stamford Bridge. Well done son
Fantastic player and his partnership alongside JT has done him wonders. They compliment each other brilliantly.
Last night was his best game for ages. He needs to maintain that standard, which he has not been doing so far. Hope this is the start of better form shown by several others as well. Team spirits look to be getting stronger so lets not drop off against "weaker" teams !! Great night by entire squad, more please !!!!
What are you talking about? Since losing to Stoke our defence has been head and shoulders above any other in the league conceding just 3 goals in 8 games and Cahill has been a massive part of it.
Must be watching different games Drogs, Cahill has been OK but not anywhere near last nights form, least that what I think and so it seems do many other posters. He has been a part of the defence of course but "massive" ?? Not until last game. Not too many game ago he was being described as "just not good enough". He might have killed off that criticism now, lets hope he continues in his new found form.
I must admit, I have been a critic of Cahills, but he will win me over if he carries on playing like he has in the last few games. His problem has never been his talent, he put in an excellent performance in the CL final and against City. His problem has always been inconsistency, he is great one week and turd the next, often getting skinned far too easily. But like i said, if he can be as good as he can be, consistently, then he will prove his worth in this team and change my opinion of him.
Spot on Bodanki, we have forgotten just how immense Cahill (and Luiz) were in the CL final, and certainly Cahill was on top form against City. As you say, hopefully he can maintain this form now, sure a lot of it is confidence and the team spirit around him. That seems to be one of the big improvements Jose has made, especially visible against City. What a bonus it would be for us if Cahills form becomes more consistent, every reason to think that might happen.
