He controlled the midfield today against some very good players.

  3. Superb today, they couldn't get the ball off him. Was it his ball for Studge too?

Coutinho the passer and creator. Henderson the runner and drive. I like this pairing. Henderson needs to start scoring though.

I know all the plaudits will be for Skrtel (Hi Gerrez, world class player here!), Sterling and Flanno, but for me, Coutinho was my man of the match. His passing was outstanding, his footwork to create those passing opportunities was brilliant, worked tirelessly in a midfield tandem with Hendo to close down and press and get the ball back, and he kept hold of the ball well.

For Gerrard to sit so deep and spread passes, you need two hard working midfielders. Coutinho did that and still managed to be a creative pivot up top.

My man of the match and back to his brilliant best today. <ok>

  6. I've been singing his praises for last couple of months <doh> He's our best CB so far this season.

I know you have, but I have to keep mentioning it since you were by far his biggest critic for a long time <ok>

Ar5ena1's best part of their team was their midfield so to dominate that area means we have to give huge credit to Hendo and Coutinho for putting in a defensive shift with Gerrard to win the ball back and spring forward.

Not a bad buy at £8m.

I always like the way he creates his own space when he has the ball which enables him to take a bit of time to find the right pass. Today some of his passes were sublime.

When he skipped past 4 Arsenal players late into the game today I burst out into applause on my own in front of my laptop. Magical player.

His work rate and determination in the tackle was fantastic today too. I love watching him pick the ball up from deep and set us off on our way. Brilliant.

For the first time I saw Coutinho become the perfect midfield player. He always had the quick feet and an eye for a pass and that made him stand out. Today he was also prepared to put in a defensive shift. The combination of the two was irresistible.

Absolutletly magical performace from the lad. As supporters it's easy to get carried away with your own players, but i genuinely think this guy has the potential to be one of the very best. He shat all over Ozil today, and that's something.

That mesmerizing run past about 4 arsenal players and the through ball to Henderson took me off my seat. That bit was breathtaking.

He also intercepted Ozil's pass and threaded that peach to Sturridge.

  15. Fair enough <laugh>

TBF, my dislike for him was always around the grabbing and hugging of opponents anyway.

Hendo was everywhere today and was superb like most of our players. Coutinho was scintillating. <magic> from the little, Brazilian <wizard>

Love this guy. He's become such an important part of our attack - even on his off days, he still provides the links between attack and midfield.

Such a classy player with a good head on his shoulders. The respect he commands from Suarez and Sturridge - at only 21, he belongs ...
