West Ham have come out 'squealing' themselves, simply because they haven't got their own way. I don't think there is any difference in Andy Carroll's red card and Allan McGregor's red card... are we just more level-headed than West Ham, or are they being more 'street-wise'?

Will the FA stick a 4th game ban on top for contesting their decision to uphold the ban as normally happens?

I think they'll overturn it, no doubt Trevor Brooking will be involved somewhere - a reason why I also don't see how former players/managers could become referees, they'd have more reason for bias than anyone. You only have to listen to commentary of games to know there would be bias.

Carroll took a swing at him. Quite rightly he got sent off.

Flores is a puff. He should also get done for his reaction.

But fat Sam brought this on himself with his dickish laugh in Flores face the last time. Telling me that Flores wasn't always going to get him back for that...

Revenge is a dish best served cold an' all that.

To be honest fez I do seriously suggest that players get a 3 match ban for intent. If clattermole dives in 2 footed at a players knee at the Weekend and the player jjumps out of the way to avoid a career threatening injury I would expect him to get sent off and a 3 match ban for serious foul play.

The same with Carroll. He swung his arm at flores. Whether he hit his face or forehead is irrelevant. It's still violent conduct under the rules.

Not that I condone the overreaction of flores

Football will end up becoming like bastetball, NO defence, no touching or it's a foul.

    From the FA website:

    http://www.thefa.com/~/media/files/pdf/the-fa-2013-14/fa-rules-2013-14/laws-of-the-game-2013-14.ashx

A direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any
of the following seven offences in a manner considered by the referee to be
careless, reckless or using excessive force:
    • kicks or attempts to kick an opponent
    • trips or attempts to trip an opponent
    • jumps at an opponent
    • charges an opponent
    • strikes or attempts to strike an opponent
    • pushes an opponent
    • tackles an opponent

I'm sure the "excessive force" bit used to be "dangerous".

Perhaps I could have stated my case differently; I have no problem where there is clear intent, I just do not believe that was the case in this particular incident - someone just seemed to think there was and I believe the recording (I can't find a video now!) was far from conclusive; certainly not conclusive enough to take the already imposed sending off into a further 3 match ban. I wouldn't mind seeing the replays (that the FA use), but a look at the video again would be worthwhile to see if it looks different - unfortunately I can't find them. To be fair I am far more annoyed that the play-acting twat got nothing; I think I would have twatted him and got my monies-worth, full intent and sod it! <whistle>

    .
If that happened then you would want to be the first half ref, so you could send off the whole of the opposition well be for half time and gain an advantage. I guess the toss up would be for which manager got the first and second half, rather than who gets the kick off and picks ends.

Trust me fez. I watched it again on the old sky plus goggle box last night and Carroll meant it. I'm no lip reading expert but from my non expert view Carroll clearly said "don't you copy my lovely ponytail, take that you ****" as he swung his arm. *

3 match ban all day long for me.

It's nice to have a debate without people resorting to petty insults and name calling. You twat.

    * that may not be entirely accurate
