Statement From Salah Nooruddin, Chairman of Leeds United.

I am delighted to announce that we have exchanged contracts for the sale of 75 per cent of the club to Eleonora Sport Ltd, subject to Football League approval. GFH Capital and its investors will retain a 25 per cent stake in Leeds United. I will remain the club Chairman and David Haigh will be the club CEO. The Board has always had as its principal aim the creation of a long term ownership structure through partnership with sound and strategic investors to build on the foundations we have laid for sustainable success for this great club. We believe we will have achieved that with this deal. It provides the basis from which Leeds United can move forward to a position which will enable it once again to compete at the highest levels of football. That is where this great club belongs and it is nothing less than its fans deserve. Throughout the difficult years, as well as the glory years, they have remained second to none in their support of the club and we as a Board have always appreciated their passion. Following the introduction of GFH to the Cellino family which owns Eleonora Sport Limited it quickly became apparent that the family and the company offered both the long term investment and the footballing knowledge necessary to take their place as majority owners of Leeds United FC. Everyone on the Board is looking forward to working with our new partners who we hope will be in place at Elland Road very soon. - See more at: http://www.leedsunited.com/news/art...atements-from-our-owners#sthash.WuOHu0fR.dpuf

I don't get it. minority shareholders get the 2 plum jobs to run the club. Doesn't smell right. Suspect 'President' has a new job description. TBH, I think I'd prefer if we got rid of these GFH buffoons immediately & be the minority shareholders they so obviously are now, with the consequent small voice in the running of the club. Is it a coincidence that the tune playing in my head is Sandie Shaw's 'Puppet on a String'?

Haigh gets a promotion at the expense of a good, knowledgeable football man? How suspiciously fortunate for him.

I think there have almost certainly been some dodgy deals in the background to ensure A. Cellino gets the club and B. Haigh and Nooruddin keep their jobs (or get promotions!)

Look on the positive side mighty. By end of next week you can concentrate on your relegation battle again. Well be busy moving the furniture into our stadium and giving the old girl a much needed upgrade <ok>

Don't see why it should be a problem, like he said in England his conviction would be spent.

You don't think that he's clearly worried about something, given he supposedly owns 9.5% of the company taking over, where the cut off point for the FPPT was 10%? (which shouldn't work, as rules were implemented so that you can be tested simply for being in a position of power, as Cellino clearly will be)

You don't think he may have broken a few rules when he was sacking all and sundry, signing off on official club letterhead, without actually owning the club?

Still stand by exactly what I said earlier... Football League sources made it abundantly clear Cellino has been approved.

His convictions aren't the only thing the FL will look at concerning approval of his buyout. The fact they're spent is certainly relevant, but that doesn't mean he can just walk in, there are many criteria in the test, about more than just criminal matters.

I'm not sure what there is to "get over". I'll have to accept that by all indications Cellino is going to be running the club, and we'll just have to wait and see exactly what happens, but I don't see how people putting their fingers in their ears and refusing to pay any attention to how Cellino's history tells us what he's going to do with us is a sensible option, and it's even more ridiculous to suggest that we should stop questioning Cellino now that he owns the club, now is the time to ramp it up, he needs to know that the fans will hold him to account for every decision he makes and that we refuse to be trampled over yet again.

Think what you want, but I don't think I can take being told to "wait and see" as our club continues to be ripped piece from piece and then repeat the cycle all over again when Cellino is forced to sell. Leeds fans need to realise that they can make a difference, we are the club, and we need to make sure anyone who comes in to run Leeds United realises this.
