Morning Everyone, End of another week, for some of us.... It has been revealed that Cellino has paid Crewe £140,000 to avoid a transfer embargo. The payment, is part of the 1m transfer for Luke Murphy. Cellino spoke to Andrew Bounds of the Financial Times yesterday. In the plain talking interview, Cellino said He is tired and fed up with Italian Football Leeds would be owned by an English Company Cellino, himself would own 10% of the Company The first act will be to buy back Elland Road (On Thursday I am going to the bank and I will buy our stadium. I have the funds to buy Leeds and to run Leeds) He would make himself president. He would invest in the academy and scour the world to buy players. Sounds plain talking to me... Jamie Ashdown can return to training. Our No 2 stopper suffered a toe injury last April, and hasn't played since. A recent email has revealed his little pinky is making good progress. Can't believe we didn't send him a get well card!!!
Morning Elland and all. Some mess and now we haven't paid suppliers since October and can't finish the astro pitch at thorp arch. Been a bad week for the gfh fans but if Cellino pulls out or is forced out I fear well be in for a tough future at the club, if any
Morning guys another week passes by and still no idea of what the truth is. GFH have only been bothered about bolstering their own bank account and worrying about their share price. This has gone on whilst suppliers to the club are not being paid since last year, and GFH should hang their heads in shame. Administration looms unless the empasse' is broken soon. I'm sick to death of my club at times and after almost 50-years find it unpalatable to read about. The last 10-years have been a struggle, a nightmare and at every turn it's the loyal fans who are ripped off, tested, expected to give more, expected to put up with watching the club be raped by anyone who thinks he's a 'Del-Boy Trotter' One thing is for certain and that ownership of this club has divided us all over the years, but right now none of us knows who will come out on top or indeed if there will be enough left on the bones of the club for us to be divided about soon.
Does that mean we get an extension on the transfer window and can buy players now that the payment has been made?
Morning All, Just thinking, perhaps our esteemed captain could lend us some money, being such a loyal Leeds lover. Good test for his depth of feeling, do you think? Slightly tongue in cheek, but an opportunity for him to make himself a true Leeds legend.
How much do you think he has just laying about? I tink he has proved himself a top man for Leeds already.
Morning all ... the sooner GFH go the better, can understand why Haigh wanted to buy club off them ... if Haigh knew about all this then he needs to explain himself, chances are he didn't because he was workng with Flowers to buy the club, so would have had to work without insider knowledge so as not to prejudice any other bids ... Cellino clearly saw an opportunity to go it alone after speaking with Haigh and Flowers, and considering he has now sold Cagliari, I feel a lot better about him getting involved ... my wish is that he remains calm when it comes to matters on the pitch, the culture of a quick trigger finger is fine in Italy but doesn't work so well here ... with McD he will at least have a manager he can trust, someone who works with honesty and integrity and treats everyone with dignity and respect ... these are values we need at Leeds United, values that will help our club to stabilise itself and attract good players and staff ... I really hope Cellino has learnt from his Cagliari experience, and also from last weekends shambles ... if he does this properly, Cellino will be sitting on the next potential footballing empire, a top English club threatening Europe once again ... I like the fact that he wants the Man U fixtures in play again, he will soon understand what it means to beat them ... oh if only we could have been playing them THIS season under Moyes Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
FRESH details were revealed today of the financial crisis at Leeds United which has halted payment to some suppliers – and delayed the installation of a new Astroturf pitch at the club’s training ground. Emails passed to the Yorkshire Evening Post show that suppliers of the Championship club, some of whom have not been paid for services since October, are being told that they will receive no further money until the shambolic ownership saga at Elland Road is over. The details emerged at the end of a week in which Leeds were forced to accept a £1.5million loan from Massimo Cellino, the Italian businessman poised to buy 75 per cent of the club, to fund their wage bill for January. Mounting financial pressure has been increasingly apparent at Elland Road since the turn of the year, and beleaguered club owner Gulf Finance House has been working for months to sell its majority stake in Leeds. Cellino has struck a deal to take charge of United last week, an agreement which is subject to Football League approval, but the club have given no timescale for completion nor clarified whether Cellino’s prior convictions for fraud are likely to see him pass the Football League’s Owners and Directors Test. Local businesses and sections of the club itself are feeling the effect of chronic uncertainty and the YEP can reveal how work to lay a state-of-the-art 3G Astroturf surface at Leeds’ Thorp Arch training complex has ceased due to a disagreement about payment. The outdoor pitch – a fundamental part of United’s attempt to secure category two status for their academy under the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) – is close to completion but appears unlikely to be finished until United meet their financial obligation. The situation was described as a “nightmare” by one source. One of United’s suppliers, meanwhile, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said: “If I ran my business the way Leeds United run theirs I wouldn’t be able to get suppliers to even talk to me let alone provide products or services. But then football’s a funny business.” GFH was approached for comment but did not respond. United were last week served with a winding-up petition by Andrew Flowers, the managing director of Enterprise Insurance which loaned £1.5m to Leeds in 2012 and is now seeking to recover the money. In response, an angry GFH statement read: “The winding up petition issued by Enterprise Insurance, a sponsor whose managing director, Andrew Flowers, claims to support the club, is misconceived and an abuse of legal process. “It is being vigorously contested by the club’s lawyers and there are no valid grounds to issue the petition. Under the ownership of GFH Capital, Leeds United has always met its financial obligations, and it will continue to do so.” GFH has considered no fewer than three takeover offers in the past three months, and Cellino remains the most likely buyer of Leeds after a number of other proposals collapsed. Sport Capital – a consortium including Flowers and club managing director David Haigh – abandoned one bid last week and Flowers then failed with a separate attempt to match Cellino’s £25m offer. Together Leeds, a group lead by former Manchester United international Mike Farnan, appear to be the only rival party to Cellino but they admitted in a statement on Wednesday night that they were struggling to draw GFH into productive negotiations.
Cellino done for fraud, being done for embezzlement, is as bent and crooked as a corkscrew and you lot think (Mr nice guy Mr do things by the book) Mcdermott is his man Yeah honesty and integrity thats the Italian way Reggie Kray would have had more chance
