Well, not sure what to think about this? I'm happier when he gives us no chance as he usually does and then we go and win. He's sitting on the fence with the result but his drivel suggests he fancies Hull. ...................................................... Sunderland v Hull Sunderland's win at Newcastle was a great result and I was particularly impressed by Black Cats manager Gus Poyet, who did not make a big song and dance about that win, but has turned the whole club around. Hull need a win after losing every league game they played in January. They only drew with Tottenham last weekend but might have nicked the three points there. I don't think Steve Bruce's side are as bad as their recent form suggest and, once Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic click, they will start scoring goals and they will be fine. ........................................ He predicted 1 - 1.
What happens when two teams that Lawro generally predicts will lose play each other? He predictably predicts a draw. FWIW, I think you will win. You are in better form than us, playing at home and we rarely do well there. Doesn't stop me hoping for a result though. thanks for recognising that my diet is working. so nothing to choose between the two teams in that respect.
Nah mate, I just think that although you've done pretty well early on in the season, I think you have been sussed and are now sinking to the level where you belong. I don't think you'll go down, but I reckon a true reflection of where you are at is around 15th in the league and lets face it, before the season kicked off I'm sure you would have settled for that? Don't let your early season form con you into thinking you're a good team cos you're not.
I'd imagine we know a lot more about both managers in a Premier League context but fair enough if you think Poyet's limited. Poyet came into a 'doomed' club where there was open revolt from the players and a great sense of anger in the stands. There couldn't have been more pressure on Poyet and he's serenely smiled through it, taken us out of the drop zone while reaching a cup final in his spare time. Bruce, as you saw when he almost threw promotion in the last 5 games of last season, buckles under pressure and trots out 'Bruce's excuses' by the bucket load. Once the inevitable slide began, this season, he struggled to react and I reckon his tactics will become increasingly long ball if that continues. As for 'Lawro', I've absolutely no idea why people take any notice of the humourless scarecrow. He seems totally bored and 'out of love' with the game .......... he rarely seems interested and never gets excited. He looks like he's just emerged from a 20 year coma. The Mexican fisherman, who was lost at sea for a year, has more life about him, is certainly a lot smarter and would probably make more accurate predictions
Poyet has done well for you since coming in and turned things around. No argument there. But he is unproven at this level. He had a great start at Brighton getting them out of League 1, but he wasn't able to get them promoted to the Premier League despite the investments in the team. Bruce has achieved that with unfancied teams more than once and managed to keep teams up. That's good enough for us this year.
This is Brighton we're talking about mate ............ never mind Poyet, I doubt Viagra could get them up
He's still in a ****ing coma I think. Straight from the Pyramids to the BBC studio. As for Bruce, his tactics start to get more irrational when things start to go wrong & he panics. Defenders picked to hang off floodlights for a vantage point to see what the other team are doing & the goalkeeper marking the linesman.
You mean like playing without strikers, taking strikers off when you're losing and showing his deep thinking tactical awareness by continually using players out of position? "He's a slow left footed midfielder so I'll switch him to play in defence against a quick left footed winger, in that way he'll get skinned for 90 minutes."
I didn't mind the bloke when he first came here Smug, in the end though he may as well have been running round the stands throwing salt in the fans eyes it was that painful to watch. The Steve Bruce football tactics manual, published by Ladybird books, can be found in most charity shop windows for around 5 pence. If you pop in and ask for it though they generally give it to you for nowt.
Hard to find anything extra I could add to this to improve it or say better exactly how I feel. Other than to say of course that Lawrenson is a universally accepted ****wit and so long as he keeps wrongly predicting all things SAFC I'll be very happy.
Heres his table compared to the current... Do you think he's shagging Delia or is she sending him food parcels ............ he has Norwich on more than twice our points!
