If this is true much nearer the true valuation of Yohan Cabaye.

Tuesday 4th February 2014 by Graham Porter

Much speculation about exactly what the Yohan Cabaye price tag but now the true price has been revealed over in France.

cabaye price tagWhile predictably it was a case of ‘Undisclosed fee’ at the Newcastle end, L’Equipe have revealed via their reputable sources what the final amount Newcastle/Ashley will receive.

The French media giants state that the initial payment is £20m (23.7m euros).

However, an additional £3.23m will be handed to Newcastle over the next eighteen months depending on certain targets been met.

Bringing a total fee of £23.3m for the United playmaker, or around 28m in foreign money (euros).

The one thing you cannot generally accuse Ashley of is letting assets go cheap.

I still think he has in this case, I must say.

Personally I've never been sure Cabaye was a £20m+ player by his own merits, but in this barmy transfer market he's worth more – particularly considering the likes of Erik Lamela can cost £30m.

I know age is a big part of it but frankly Cabaye is in his prime and already proven in supposedly the world's best league.

We all knew the replacement talk was guff so why didn't they squeeze every last penny by taking it to deadline day?

Aye great business blah,blah,blah... Yohan wanted CL,Toon didn't sit him down in December and tell him yes we have a chance and bring players in next transfer window so we'll try for it.No out you go,nice profit and season over after going out of cup fs and now Ashley all over here buying up a sports shop company (Ireland) 'cos he can get it on the cheap, something like 50 shops and now it's going to court. We knew it was only business with him but when he can go to a high court here in Dublin and not even buy 1 player,**** me just can't see my self giving him any more money.

We did well getting that amount for him blah blah blah.

    So what?

How many windows has it been since we last spent? I really couldn't care less if we got 230k or 23million for Cabaye when Mike Ashley pockets the money and refuses to spend it.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the 16.5m initial fee that was allegedly the last straw that got Joe the sack because Fat Mike wanted at least 20m up front.

You mean the £16.5M that was reported in the independent that PSG have said is an incorrect figure because the initial payment is £20M? Is that the £16.5M you want us to mention? The bit I'm surprised about is why anyone from your board is trying to take the piss for us not getting enough when your board always went on about how he was overrated and just a dirty little cheat (he is a dirty ****er). If anything I'd have expected you to be keeping out of it now hat one of Europe's leading clubs has agreed that he is a very special player and spent a fortune on him backing that up.

I'm surprised anyone thinks JK had the authority to sell a player without Ashley signing off on it.

To be fair, the guy can't distinguish between sacking and resignation, so I'd take it with a dose of sodium chloride.

I'm not taking the piss, I said allegedly, it's one of the many rumours going about at the moment and slots in the thread perfectly. <doh>

Clearly my non confrontational conduct following the derby has gone completely unnoticed by you, a few of you have noticed even if you and Albert can't. It wouldn't be difficult to take the piss would it? I've shown nothing but humility since the derby. You were incapable of distinguishing wumming from banter before the derby and you're incapable of distinguishing the difference between a reasonable footballing post and piss take since the derby. Go and check my posts on here since the derby and you'll see you're way off the mark. Get the chip off your shoulder and grow brain lad. You're club has given me nothing but the ammunition to crucify you lot. Please grasp that it is not my intention to wind you up.<doh>

If he didn't offer his resignation his job would have been taken from him. I'll rephrase it so you can grasp it without trying to be a clever **** jumping on grammatical technicalities. HIS POSITION BECAME UNATTAINABLE. <ok><laugh>

now now Bri, you need to stop the wumming <whistle> <laugh>. I can almost see the steam coming out of your ears.
Getting all sweary and all of that jazz just ain't cool fella.
You're more than capable of holding your own in a debate without hoying personal insults into the mix.
I see you're almost at a big milestone of 10,000 posts too.
Any specific plans on where to 'drop the big one' ?

Aren't you falling into the same trap? My post was hardly a character assassination. Taking the piss is different to wumming and I never accused you of that. Banter is all about taking the piss out of each other and I wouldn't want you to stop, just as I wouldn't want to stop replying in kind. You have all been very restrained, tho I don't suppose it would have been as much fun when most of our posts were saying the same as you would have anyway. Take a deep breath, get back on the banter train and stop being such a funky phallus! <ok>
