Come on now Ivor, your not being objective again, if my memory serves me correct, the issue of recalling Ki was first dismissed by Laudrup when he was down to his last midfielder in Cannas, and he should have recalled him then, not after Cannas gets injured, and when Jenkins had to go and check the deadline, which he got wrong was all down to Laudrup's attitude to Ki, which was difficult for Huw to overrule the manager at that point, otherwise people would be accusing him of interfering in the managers remit, sorry the more I think about Ki, the more I see it was Laudrup's poor judgement along with his slimed down squad ethos!...............<ok>

Mikra....I never implied you were a plastic.....more that your attitude to the team had changed and that yiu shortly folow ML to pastures new.. I wasn't the only one that noticed it.
On your definition of a fan, I too could use the 'we' term....although I never would. I have too much self-respect.
Enjoy Danish football. I enjoy non- league stuff too sometimes....it's something about the amateur operation that does it.

Ooh, I never really thought about it like that.

Laudrup says no to Ki coming back.
    Jenkins says OK.
    Canas gets injured.
Jenkins would be interfering if he had contradicted Laudrup's decision on Ki.
    Laudrup's fault.

The only caveat to this is if Laudrup asked the board to act and they missed the deadline through inexperience.

    Therefore, we will never know.

That in my view never happened given the way that Laudrup handled Ki in the first place, Managers have their favourites, and De Guzman was Laudrups, and that was Ki's problem and ours, because in my view Ki is far better than De Guzman!................<ok>

Then what are you saying? My attitude towards the team (or Laudrup) hasn't always been positive. I have a feeling that not all players in the squad will be satisfied with Monks coaching (and having Monk as a manager); my attitude towards the board has definately changed: being a PL Club has gone to their heads.
Their idea of due diligence is panicing, narrowminded and focused on saving a few £££ here and now instead of looking for the the best of the Club. Fx buying average championship players to bolster a premier League team...

    Mikra,
Study the history of your club and do a bit of your own due diligence. SCFC has been in this position twice before and paid for it with administration BOTH times. of course, that was before the penalties which now have been introduced. even so, it has had a lasting effect on all concerned and will , presumably always, influence how the directors act. Mr Laudrup was, I suspect, moving the club away from their comfort zone and into risk-taking. There is little financial stability in football and SCFC has little in the way of fixed assets to support expansion and it also does not have a sugar daddy to bail it out. HJ is rich by local standards but does not have enough to sort out a bail out. hence the careful approach. That approach must be respected. Monk is a risk but it is a fail-safe risk, I guess. should the Swans go down (and I hope they, and Cardiff, do not), there is a future that can be built on. Big spend now and there could easily be another administration. I suspect business studies is not your subject.

My point exactly: why spend £ 4million on sacking a manager that has a plan to emply a Club man WHO may, or may not, have clou? And WHO may, or may not, have the bacing of the full squad.
At least wait till after the derby game and see which way it goes. Sacking him after the derby would have had made better sense, if sackings ever do make sense....

Dragon, Laudrup had his reasons for not recalling Ki. When he did need him he couldn't have him because Jenkins had f****d up over the contract. It's that simple. And I'd love to see Laudrup slime down his squad by the way.

Seriously, that has always been another of my issues with ML - always felt that we needed a squad of 25 with our heavy fixture schedule.

You've got to be honest, having the recall date set as the end of the year and not the end of the January transfer window is pretty amateur but I guess the mackems got it in there so that we couldn't pull the rug from under them and leave them with no time to find a replacement. We're too nice

Hoddle declines the job , so does Jones , Bielsea hasn't gotten back to Huw yet apparently. Starting to look like Gary's the only one that wants to be in his shoes . Actually I'm good with that , but thats not the point . We may have trouble getting anyone if Hoddle turned us down lol

Laudrup said Ki is doing well at Sunderland, and thinking of him as a player I'm not going to bring him back because it would be devastating for him to come from being the 1st name on the team sheet to being on the bench.

And that was wrong, we were all ready thread bare in the midfield, and a week or so after that Cannes gets injured, and Laudrup has to back track, when he should have realised he was short anyway, trouble is that Laudrup didn't want him back because of his little favourite De Guzman, who's no where near as good as Ki. I hope Garry Monk sorts De Guzman out and tells him in no uncertain terms that he'll have to roll his sleeves up, and get stuck into the dirty work!.....<ok>

If Ki comes back, I hope he tells him EXACTLY the same thing.
