How long ago? I thought they were quite good when I saw them at Piper last December.

A while back, he did make a couple of stand in appearances, I think last year but maybe the year before. They also, strangely, do a Showaddywaddy tribute, Showmaddymaddy I think.

Not tribute acts, but there are two band names that always stick in my mind: one is a football-related one, called The Old Fourth Division and the other is a rock covers band in West Yorkshire which goes by the name of Three Litre Capri. Marvellous.

There was a band over in Lincolnshire that used to do punk and new wave versions of Abba, Queen, disco stuff, Sinatra and all sorts of standards. Not quite a tribute band in the strictest sense but they were called The League of Mentalmen. Fantastic band also...

There's a really good band doing the rounds in Hull that takes their name from a Small Faces song and they are called Tin Soldier. They're playing at the Goodfellowship on Friday night (tomorrow) Check them out! <whistle>
