Its a disgrace if Stoke don't put the statue of Gordon Banks outside the Brit, it should have been there ages ago. I saw Gordon play his first and last match for Stoke, he was the greatest goalie of all time, a true Stoke City legend, and still is. Get your finger out Stoke City F.C. Get the Statue put up you tight gits. Story from the Sentinel, plus petition (bottom of the page)
Hiw about Chesterfield if they are goung to be pedantic. Chris...help please, not sure how to do this, can we do this by sticky??? With a heading like; Gordon Banks, Stoke City and England World Cup Winner. His statue.MUST be erected at the Brit or something like that, I'm certain somebody can come up with more inspirational words than that Lets take it from there
You can go on line, to the Sentinel and sign a petition to keep it at Stoke, we don't want Leicester to have it. Come on Stokies sign it.
The thing is even when they do build a statue(stanley mathews) they put it in a terrible position, it should have been 20 foot up on a column so that everyone can see it driving down the a50, instead its stuck at the far end of the stadium behind the trees. Come on stoke pull ya finger out and build banksy a statue and put it in a good place this time.
Er just found out. When Gordon won the World Cup in '66 he DID play for Leicester. So if they are being really pedantic, they are correct in a way like
Yes but they sold him to us, he ended his career here, he still lives here, his kids and grandkids, come and support Stoke at matches. Plus he helped us to win the league cup Final, when he saved the penalty from Hurst in the semi-final, I was there that night.
Yes I know but...anyway they can bugger off Covfox and all that. Plus we sent them down. I was there too Crazy, after Banks saved the penalty, John Ritchie said 'it was the only time he wanted to kiss a man on the lips' Happy days eh!
I was at West Ham that night and was lucky to get out alive as I was in the paddock with the West Ham fans. When Big John Ritchie scored I could not contain myself and all hell was let loose when Banks made that save from Hurst. An unforgettable night!
