I am not sure about him, he hasn't made 2 seasons as a manager since leaving Bronby, I wonder if he has itchy feet as there were reports that he wanted out of Swansea before the start of the season, reading the news reports the comments from the Swansea chairman seem to point to an issue with relationships rather than his performance as manager. Would I want him at Newcastle, the short answer is no.

Seems completely mental from the outside. He is a quality manager. However it did always appear that he wasn't fully committed to Swansea. He always clearly gave the impression that Swansea was a stepping stone for him.

Because the Welsh have their own league and all Welsh teams should compete in it. <ok>

    I agree to a degree.
We tell Scotland their top teams can't compete in the EPL yet allow a Welsh teams.
It should be all in or none.

    You're all missing the point.
Laudrup has been sacked because Kinnear is available. Keep up lads!

Whilst there is mixed reaction to his sacking on some forums there is a very definite thread that runs it as a positive action by the directors of Swansea, there is a feeling that he has not prepared his teams enough, lack of fitness, tactically poor this season and almost disinterested in his job, I read that he was supposed to meet up with the club chairman to discuss the West Ham defeat and movement forwards but decided to go off on a jolly instead, as I mentioned before he has not settled into a position since leaving Bronby for more than a season and a half.

The question is whether that thread is perpetrated by Jenkins as propaganda, rather than an accurate reflection of what occurred. Lack of preparation and match fitness of players is just the Europa curse. At least he's not so idiotic he "solved" the prep time problem by writing "Bring on Shola, long ball" 38 times on bits of paper.

I was gonna ask that but I know you will get hammered.

    League cup, europe etc

People forget under Pardew we have been 5th did they want him sacked then did they ****.
Flirted with relegation some got on his back then (but nowt different to other teams in the europa league)
Been to the 1/4 final of the europa league and were a little unlucky to progress.
Sitting 8th in the premier sack him now cos we lost to the scum?

**** i have you said what I was not gonna do.

Tbh I can't stand Brendan Rogers' mug but both liverpool and swansea play decent football, and Swanseas style was clearly there before Laudrup got there. I don't know who could say for sure Laudrup would bring that style... not to mention we don't have the players to do it.

Pardew saying we're going to have to change our style? I agree. With Tiote Sissoko and Anita in there, we're going to have to play more pressing, more high energy and less pass and move. We simply don't have the players to it. Basically we should be playing defensive with Gouf; Remy and Hatem/Cissé on the counter.

I'm pretty soure the times of us dominating possession and games is over for the time being.

The problem with playing long ball to Shola..Sholas not very good at that. Carroll was. If we still had Carroll we could play that game all day long, with Remy or Cissé feeding off a target man. But Shola isn't up for that. I don't think LdJ is either, he diddn't look like a big target man. We all know by know Cissé and Remy aren't that player either.

I just hope Pardews plan isn't to play long ball to Shola. We've tried that a couple of seasons ago, it didn't work. And that was when we still had Nolan who was a terrible nuisance in and around the box who read the game well, we don't have that midfielder anymore.

Our game, considering our players has to be deep lying defensive 4-3-3 with 3 defensive midfielders and just let the front 3 run on the counter.

On a personal level, yeah I'd like Laudrup. Simply because Pardew and his ****e is starting to really piss me off. He drives the team pitifully on the Derby.

But on a practical level in the long run there really isn't any point.

I think Pardew has achieved more than Laudrup over his first two seasons with the toon. Personally I think 5th, whilst it's not a trophy, is actually more difficult than the Carling Cup given the fixtures they had. Yes they beat chelsea and Liverpool, but so did we to finish 5th.

Both managers struggled with the demands of Europe. I also agree with some suggesting Laudrup thinks he's "above" Swansea.

Derby defeat hurt, but it was an off day, and our problems run much deeper than just the manager.

    I say stick with Pards.

I would like to add that the press have misconstrued Pardew's comment. He said "time to go back to basics", which I tend to think means let's do the simple stuff, not let's go back to the early 1990's. We were giving the ball away in key areas, not pressing high up the pitch, making silly mistakes and too many people were trying too many individual things; crap longshots, dodgy runs, running into blind alleys, and so on.

What took us to 6th this season and 5th two years ago was a simple structure - 5 across the middle - fast breaks and solid formation. As Ben Arfa is the only option we've got to replace Cabaye it is down to him and Pardew to make it work. We've got an identity, it just disappeared with all the negativity from the sale of Cabaye. Get Gouff and Sissoko wide, get Tiote/Anita deep and get Ben Arfa to be a bit smarter on the ball. Use Cisse when Remy's not fit up front, and occasionally rotate to avoid fatigue. Get Santon away from full back, get MYM or Colo back in for Saylor asap, it's all fine. Sure, we'll get trounced by Chelsea, but Pardew's still got an ok team to pick here and he needs to earn his money by getting them back playing football.

Rumours coming out of swansea now aren't clever. Not sure what is true and what isn't, but if it is it's a nasty smear campaign.

Laudrupp going on vacation to Paris after losing to WHU and giving the team 2 days off. Drinking on team retreat in UAE. Refusing to train the team when it rains? No discipline in the squad.

Definititely not what we need. Laudrupps heart wasn't in this one bit.

Christ I'd take a cup all day long mate.

Laudrup probably suffers the same problem that most ex players do (the ones that had exceptional talent) that become managers - a frustration that most players under him don't have the ability that he did.

Looks like Ashley has met is gambling match in the Swansea chairman, with Jenkins firing such a talented manager and hoping it doesn't get worse.

But Pardew isn't the biggest problem that this club has. I'd image a manager like Michael Laudrup would quickly get bored with Ashley's dry ink philosophy at transfer windows.

Laudrup wouldn't want to join us anyway.
