I thought he had rubbished the possibility of Real when he was at Espanyol??? Were Espanyol that much better than Saints are that he wouldn't have considered it then but he would now? I also think that there is no way he would be able to impose his style on Real. He is very much a 'team' person and ballgreedy selfish gets like Ronaldo would be at loggerheads with suggestions of someone else suggesting how he should play and that maybe just sometimes he could pass to someone.
It's interesting that it seems they have not spent huge amounts on players, yet are currently breaking the top 2 dominance. Yet in this country, where the distribution of money within the league is much fairer, people say that we cannot break into the top 4 without a significant spend.
Mauricio: "I don’t speak about unrealistic and intangible things so I have no comment. Real Madrid are an amazing club and you never know what can happened in football at present all my thoughts are on Southampton."
Mauricio says club is in the middle of a restructuring process. Says he understands that he needs to wait for the reorganisation to be completed and for people to adapt to their new roles before discussions about his contract. Says he has a contract until the end of next season and will talk to the owners when they are ready.
That's because over that year it's been revealed that Laudrup isn't actually that good. And Pochettino actually is really good.
Coming along fine with some poor days. I can now watch Saints on tv or follow on BBC website without getting angina...big step forward
Laudrup has been a one-season wonder as a manager long before he came to Swansea. It's generally acknowledged (post-Brondby), and wasn't just revealed at Swansea. He generally lasts a year or less wherever he goes, so has actually done quite well at Swansea to last almost two!
In prematch press conference, Mauricio repeated that any links between him and the players and bigger clubs just reflects well on the club. He then added that he is already making plans for next season at Southampton...good to hear.
