This wasn't the time to get rid of Pietersen, the loss of Trott exposed the lack of depth to an already frail batting line up, taking out the player whose wicket is valued most by opposition teams when they still have at least 2 if not 4 or 5 years left at the top level does not strike me as being the right call
Gotta say that whilst infuriating at times he is head and shoulders above any other batsman we have, but th ecb may as well be the FA's twins, frightened of anything remotely different, the sooner beefy and vaughan have input the better
I've always been uneasy about having non-English players in the team, and with Trott's departure and now this, there's a chance to restore the team's Englishness. Then again, if they pick Robson and Ballance...
This would ONLY happen in England!!! We are the only nation in the world that wouldn't choose our best player. I'd like to say more, but can't afford any law suits.....
Think a few other players should have been shown the door before Pietersen. He was our top highest run scorer in the tests. Should have also played him in the one day matches.
To be blunt, Ive always hated him. His dismissals in the recent Ashes series were almost comicalif they werent so disgraceful and summed him up - going for glory rather than doing a team job. Ive always had the feeling that if he scored 100 and England lost then he'd be happier than if he got a duck and England won. He's a total cock and he should never have played for England. For me both parents need to be of a nationality if you werent born there.
That's me in a nutshell, Ive tried to change but with limited success. I put it down to inherited traits from my Jamaican dad and Bangladeshi mum.
