Grifter, do you thinks its smart to go on other teams boards, both Swansea and Fulham today, and make snide comments?. Does it not bring them on to our board and do them same?. I think you should try and act a little more grown up.
I think it is fine to go other boards and have a little wind up, as long as you dont start abusing other posters
Dish it out don't be amazed if you get a few gate crashers come to our party I like to look at all views regardless but understand that some will on here will get pissed Job for our mods to look at IMO
Sorry mum... It's a multi-board forum QPRNY, part of the attraction is the interaction with opposition fans. I made a relevant point on the Fulham board, based upon my experiences of Craven Cottage a couple of weeks ago. I'll never sling personal abuse, or target anything distasteful (injuries, for instance). Besides, superthickerhoopser (amongst others) has posted in identical opposition threads today- what have I done to merit this personal telling off?
I think it's best to PM individuals if they've specifically done anything you disagree with or are offended by. Personal threads are more of an irritation on forums that wumming is.
The multi-board facet of this site was designed so that posters from different teams could engage in constructive and intelligent discussion pertaining to their respective sides. It was not designed to be used as a platform for users to make playground comments in order to wind-up other teams supporters. It is, QPRNY's and any other poster's business to comment on the actions of other users, if these actions result in this board and our enjoyment of it being spoilt by attracting other teams posters who decide to reciprocate.
The first part of your comment is correct The second part of your answer is wrong It is none of your business what a poster wants to put on another board, so keep your opinions to yourself. You are just frightened that you may have extra modding to do.
That's a very idyllic, sanitised image of what a football forum should be. It's irrelevant what the board was designed for, the human element means that it's always going to be evolving and changing. Many would suggest that the purpose of this forum isn't to discuss cars, or whether people have hair. But those are things that contributors want to do- and I've come to begrudgingly accept that. I'm not sure why "intelligence" should be a requisite component of postings either, this is a football forum- not a peer reviewed scientific journal. Nothing new is happening here that wasn't on BBC606. It's a microcosm of footballing life, with wind-up merchants and 'banter' and schadenfreude. You may as well use "playground" and "terrace" interchangeably. Comment, maybe- start personal threads? I don't think so. If he wants to make a general point about posting inflammatory messages on other boards, then fair enough. Should I now start a "I don't like what QPRNY said" thread on this site? Or a "Nines posted something that sounds a bit supercilious", one? What am I supposed to do now? Personally justify my comments on other club's boards at the behest of another (70 post) contributor? I posted a couple of fatuous comments on a thread with 8 pages of fatuous comments, including some from other QPR fans. I posted a lone comment on a Fulham thread making some observations based on my recent visit to their ground. I didn't labour the point in either case, which is what usually seems to instigate retaliation. "Our enjoyment" is fairly sweeping too isn't it- considering many have said they're not too bothered by opposition fans, whilst some even welcome them.
Without reference to any posters or posts, the point I'd make is that the quality of post you make on other boards is what we can all expect in return. Tongue in cheek gets banter back, provocation gets retaliation and respectful posts get the same back. Whilst most posters appreciate the perspective of supporters from other teams, I'd guess that most posters on here don't want an influx of Lovely Geezers, that annoying Swansea fan with the long name, Andy Fox-bloke and the like. You reap what you sow but it's worth remembering that the harvest is for all of the QPR forum. Like I say, nothing against anyone here but just an observation.
Tongue in cheek is often not welcomed on other boards because posters have trouble knowing if it is provocation or not. But you are not far off with your thoughts
Absolutely, and all you need is a couple of "provocation" posters on other boards, that can spoil threads on our board, for the vast majority.
Thanks for the advice - but no thanks. Grifter was not the only one that went on there last night and certainly was not the only one to point out to Swansea fans that were delighted to have Gary Monk instead of Herr. Laudrup as there manager, the error of their ways. - My Danishness makes me feel the need to defend our King against those delusional neanderthals. I'm often on the Chelsea board discussing how Rafa and Mourinho are 2 peas from the same pod and how Luiz is a defensive midfielder - they understand now that why I'm on there is due to seeing way too much Chelsea football due to my little one supporting them. I have to admit that I go on there with a little intention of proving them wrong with my facility of the written word and command for solid argumentation . in other word a beautifully diguised leg cutter of a Wum - but not repeatedly, maybe once a fortnight. Everyone likes an intelligent Wum that comes on now and again - the crap we have been subjected to from the Leicester Dick is just mind boggingly boring - and as we are all about opinions, I think your OP is also boring and if you would like to set yourself up as a Mod I'm sure there are some avanues for applying. The Jacks knew we were coming last night - We werenot the only ones as I'm sure you saw, and I'll tell you another thing whilst I'm in this erstwhile mood standing on my pontiff - ANYONE that takes Monk over Laudrup deserves the fullest contempt, disregard and utmost humiliation that can befall them. I mean Monk over Laudrup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going back over there, thanks for the prompt NY
I don´t want to jump on the ´bash NY´ bandwagon but you do sound a little hypocritical when you are posting on your own board how good Chelsea are!?!?!?! - As for posting on other team boards, ´you reap what you sow!´
I used to pop over to the Norwich forum to add constructive comment and discussion. Sadly many posters there are so anti-QPR that it descended very quickly into abuse. Now I often peruse what's happening there and on other forums but do not comment
