Crazy! It's on sky sports! Nuts! I don't know about you guys but I really rate him and would definitely consider him.
I knew there was trouble brewing there from the Danish reports we´ve been getting here, all that apparently glitters is not always gold. One more chairman perhaps trying to punch above his weight?
I wouldn´t get too excited about him, great player he was, but as a manager he has got a bit of a reputation for falling out with his employers, he´s only lasted about a year at each of his last 4 clubs, Getafe, Spartak Moscow, Mallorca, and now Swansea, without really excelling at any of them. He walked out on Getafe, was sacked at Moscow, resigned after a disagreement at Mallorca, and now sacked again, very risky I´d say.
No surprise. The rumours that he was leaving in the summer have got to be taken into consideration, was this adding to the unrest with the current results? Would I want him? No. He wouldn't commit to us any more than he has Swansea. Still we will see which option -stick or twist- is the better option come May now!!!
I know, I know. It's just the thought of watching a football team that can pass the ball that's making me feel all warm inside.
I know what you mean, I feel giddy at the thought of a team which creates chances for it's own strikers instead of the opposition teams!!
Laudraup had a very good base to start from at Swansea with the philosophy they've had over the years.
Now they've appointed team captain Gary Monk from within 'for the foreseeable future', I fear for them (although it may benefit us), as we all know how well that can work!
Crazy!!!! Wins them the league cup and gets them some European football and apparently its not good enough for the massive Swanselona. The premier league really does go to the heads of some teams it seems.
To be honest I think the football went backwards under Laudrup from Rogers and I do wonder if he was a one trick pony with the signings in his first season. I'd still welcome him with open arms though, could be a real shot in the arm the team needs. We could kill two birds with one stone, avoid relegation and enjoy watching the football again. It won't happen however, maybe next season.
Funny one really. I don't think Laudrup was ever going to take them down, but refusing to commit was making it difficult for them to plan further ahead. Parting with him seemed inevitable, but to do it after January, with nobody lined up to replace him except their ex-captain to take over. It's like us giving Drury the job. Mad. This seems to have been brewing for a while, and it's not like their results have plummeted of late (just been poor all season really), so to not have anyone lined up, and to let it impact on your approach to the January transfer window, seems very poor upper-management. To me it would have made more sense to sack him in December, or at the very least to wait until you've got a replacement lined up. In some ways it sounds a bit like the Lambert situation, where he wanted to push the team further, but the board wanted to keep the club financially secure so couldn't risk the funds the manager wanted. I thought Swansea were going to spend the season just on the periphery of the relegation fight, but never get properly drawn into it. Now their 2 points above the relegation zone, with FA and Europa cup fixtures to come, and an inexperienced manager, I'm not so sure. Just 4 of the bottom 10 clubs have the same manager they started the season with now.
Arsene is the longest serving PL manager but after that it's Pardew then big Sam. There are then the 4 managers appointed in June 2012. Rodgers, Lambert, Bruce and a certain Mr Hughton.
No idea whether the problem is with him or with Jenkins, but it´s not a coincidence that he´s only ever lasted as manager, in the short term, the common view over here from football commentators is, that he rapidly loses interest, and once the newness of a new club has worn off, his coaching and training and all round day to day input, drops off with it.
