Please could somebody explain how we are allowed to sign Carla after the transfer deadline has closed. I hope somebody high up at the club understands the rules: we buy him out of a contract he's already agreed and then plan to put him in the side - possibly for Saturday.
Ten point deduction and relegated or not? And if not..... Why not? I do not understand.

The league would sign off the transfer anyway wont they? Wouldn't his registration just be rejected?

How can he be a free agent if we've paid somebody £1 million for him?
We bought out his contract is one version I've seen in the media - that can't be allowed surely.

I think the contract buy out is a red herring from the media.

His contract ended this summer, Sevilla ripped it up (they are absolutely skint). He's a free agent, so we signed him.

Now I'm sure he knew what was on offer here before releasing Sevilla of their obligation to pay him for another 4 months. There is no way Sevilla can have been paid to release him (buying out the contract) as that would be a transfer.

Wol **** stirring as usual. Unless he signed for Getafe there is no fee payable. The article says a contract was negotiated nothing about it being signed. Anyway the league would have to register him and any underlying deal before he played. No registration no play no fine no points deduction.

I don't believe the club would be so stupid after recent events to go outside the rules. This is all out in the open before he plays so we are not at risk.

Interesting one that though Blue. I'm not an expert on rules but if Getafe had an agreement signed with the player but hadn't registered him as a player for them in theory he'd still be a free agent but a payment could be made for them to basically rip up that bit of paper. I remember Man U and Chelsea having a similar situation with Jon Obi Mikel. Chelsea paid Utd a shed load to release a player they'd never actually signed.

    Could be Steve.

However we would only be at risk if he played and I can't see the club doing that unless any all is water tight. If the powers that be don't like it then he doesn't play and the deal will have to wait until the summer. We are no worse off.

As he is not named on our new 25 man squad it looks like my fears that Juan Carla's signing might be a bit dodgy could be right. Looks like Tan, Melmet and Ole have put their heads together and decided we'll keep the ten points.

Might have missed it, but anyone actually seen the 25 man squad for the second half of the season? I thought it had to be announced by the close of the Jan transfer window.

As we've got below age players like Daehli, Zaha and John who don't have to be included, should it be a real problem now the loanees have gone out?
