By dropping two points yesterday, Arsenal game at Anfield is now a must win game. The teams that are close to us are too close for comfort. Tottenham and Everton are meeting on Sunday and we are playing on Saturday. By beating Arsenal we are going to put pressure on them.
both games could quite easily be a draw though, so nothing lost if that happens. (although another chance wasted to widen the gap) obviously a win would be nice but we are playing a team playing good football, just need to make sure when we get chances we take them. think the spurs game when they come to anfield will see where we are at and how badly we will need the points then, at the moment we are in 4th, so not doom and gloom just yet.
I think... we need to play the game on its merits. any result against a top 4 team is a good one. ask mourinho tonight and after he's parked the bus he'd say the same. For me I think we lost ground on everton, didn't on tottenham and gain on utd. We play utd, arsenal, city and cheslea and tottenham in the next 14 games.. 4 of which are at home. that makes the west brom result look terrible but its in the past and can't be changed so chasing the game v arsenal won't do us any good.
requires energy and a decent pitch. it seems our players couldn't perform on the waest brom ptich and our midfielders looked weak. coutinho especially. we've a week to prepare.
Was not happy to see the ox back in their set up. I fear he'll run us ragged; wish Sterling had his end product! Arsenal's defence is much more solid than prior years and they passed round us for fun at the Emirates. tbh, I don't feel great about this game but then I didn't about Everton!
Arsenal is no more "a must win" than it ever was. Like all of the games we have left we must get out of it the best that we can. One thing Palace showed yesterday was that they would have been dangerous for Arsenal if they had any quality forwards.
no chance of a clean sheet lol, just have to win 4-3, havent had one of them for a while don't think, cracker of a game both were, well i suppose if you are on the right end of it.
Every game is worth three points and that is what we should be aiming for in all of them. Whats happened as happened and makes no different to our progress from here.
Should Arsenal beat us then we will be leap frogged by Everton. They have an easy 3 points in their Sunday game.
