We're safe from relegation so selling Cisse for £10m now gives us more time to work out a deal for a marque striker (I know, I know) in the summer.

The plan over the next few years is clearly to keep the club in the Premier League to keep receiving the ridiculous TV money, develop players to sell for a profit and Ashley to use most of the money to pay off our loan to him. It should only take a few more years until he's paid off at this rate and we have to just knuckle down and see what the long-term plan is. At the end of it MA will own a club that is debt free so he can either sell this very attractive fact to a new potential owner OR have us running in the same financially sensible way but with the power to spend whatever (increasing) profit we make on playing staff. Either way it's a good future to have, not being in debt to MA is what we really want so it's best to get it written off as quickly as possible because we know he's not a reckless 'splash the cash' guy.

Unless we are at risk of relegation, we simply will not spend. It's taken far longer than expected but we are still consolidating ourselves as a stable club, don't let recent 'success' fool you. As much as I dislike the man, in terms of securing our future, MA is going about it the right way. Whether Pardew is the right man to take us forward, I don't know but he IS the man to keep a steady boat behind the scenes and carry out Ashley's plan. How long will that plan take? Anything upto eight years, but if the debt is paid off sooner then we only need pay one years wages in compensation if we sack him.

Of course this is no fun for the fans to watch, a frugal billionaire who's not particularly a football fan carrying out a business plan with a yes man doing enough to keep the team going, BUT, in the long term we will... I won't say 'thank him' but understand some of his decisions, why he hasn't hired an ambitious manager who would take us off route and why we continue to sell our best players for big money.

Losing 3-0 to the Mackems hurt like hell, not gonna lie, but the fans at the ground seemed more intent on hating Mike Ashley that supporting the players. The atmosphere was terrible and I'm sure didn't help the performance one bit. We knew it was going to be hard but used it as an excuse to berate our lack of spending rather than trying to make a special occasion of it. Sunderland definitely won yesterday, in every possible way.

So can we find a better manager who understands the current unpopular business plan and is happy to take abuse for it? Pardew is a decent manager (not saying he's great) who will not kick up a fuss when he's not allowed to spend, very few people could replace him, certainly no one who would dramatically improve the club whilst helping to pay off Ashley. We have to accept (yes! accept!) that these are not the 'good times' we have been waiting for, despite the false dawn, but that they are only a few years away, as a debt free club capable of resisting poachers and able to be self sufficient.

The players just need a good hard kick up the arse right now and reminded that though our season may be effectively over (the club doesn't want Europa football), they still need to make an effort for the countless loyal fans who are currently a bit disillusioned. Now is the time to blood some younger players whilst still finishing Top10.

Sorry for the long post lads and don't mistake it for pro-Ashley, it's pro-future. <ok>

Problem is we need to sign 2 or 3 (depending whether you class Remy as one) if Cisse goes, as De Jong and Remy are only on loan.

It's a terrible risk on Ashley's part. What if we're too far gone one January to be saved?

De Jong has an option in his loan to turn it permanent and unless he turns out to be ****, I think all parties will be happy with that. Then we'll look to bring in another loan striker we otherwise couldn't afford ala Remy/Lukaku. Rinse and repeat.

This is probably the way we should be looking at it. If Cisse goes for £10million then our profits for this financial year will be £60-£70million. The loan owed to ashley is somewhere between £110-130million. So if we ignore the comments made by management that the loans were not going to be repayed anywhen soon we could reduce the loan to £40-£60million on this year alone. Some money will need to be spent next year to keep us in the league but I bet it will not be much. I'd imagine Luuk de Jong for a fairly low agreed figure, Baf Gomis on a free and perhaps Grenier or similar for around £10million. That would leave around £20million from next seasons TV money to be paid onto the loan and I wouldn't be surprised if they are also hoping that someone on our books increases their price tag through to the end of this season so they can sell again. Start of the 2015-2016 season we may be debt free or close to it.

There we are - positive thinking is all that is left to us in gloomy times.

Bafetimbi Gomis has announced that he has agreed to join a certain club in the summer on a pre-contract... Club happens to be in England. I would not be surprised if it was us.

    <ok>

De Jong, Gomis and Grenier would probably be enough to at least see us through to January. We'll probably sell some more players (HBA, Debuchy) to pay for them mind. If one of our CB prospects (most likely Good) manages to step up then that will be the backup CB we need. We've got a squad more than capable of mid-table finishes with only minor tweaks while we slowly become debt free.

I Hope for his sake and all our lads they get away from our rotten Czlub . They are wasting their careers and Getting worse players through terrible coaching. They must all regret joining now they realise the ambition of the Club. As always the better players will go and the dog **** will stay and a few other good players will be fooled into signing unaware they are just cattle

Should be at training tomorrow like... clearly not.
It will either be a trip to Italy for personal reasons or he's on his way to Russia. Amsterdam is as good a hub as LHR.
Given his spat with Krul he could even be going awol for a bit.

All of this! He makes a handsome profit nearly every window. Thanks for the stability mike, but please sod off and take your useless entourage with you.

Any update on Cisse? Love to know whats happened behind closed doors with him, surely a top class striker can't go from the form of last season to now. Something has happend for him to turn off as of late. Really hope he stays, we need him to be honest, and we need him to return to form, so whatever fat mike and co have said to him, they best get the fu..er sorted out.
