But Dave, football is not about money for me. I have a 5 year old boy and he loves football and I am trying to install in him that it should be ENJOYABLE and should be FUN. I don't want all that about so much money etc..... It's ridiculous! It's so bloody serious and I'm not worried if we go down as it's unbearable at the moment and best of luck to Ipswich if they want it because I don't.
It's not about me being anti CH, I actually feel sorry for the poor sod. One week your king and the next your gone. Sod it.
As I'm sure JWM will testify, the win at all costs mentality is doing the game no good at all. The amount of under 11s matches I have refereed, where the parents are shouting, not encouragement to either team, but things like, "Don't let hime get past you", "Bring him down", " Go down if he comes near you" etc. I have even heard a parent shouting to his son to "Break his leg boy. What are you? A wimp?" Yes, it is nice to see my team playing in the top league, but not at any price. Not for me anyway
My remark about the amount of money was meant to show it is PL at any cost from the club's point of view, we supporters are irrelevant!
When I go and see my son play I praise all the kids whatever team. Even if my sons team lose massively! They are kids for Christ sake!
Totally agree KEMP. My point is that with all the money in the game, the win at all cost mentality eventually filters down to the kids, via their parents. Not always the case, I will admit, but it is frightening just how many parents do try to get their kids to play with that attitude.
Cardiff fan... I am not sure why you feel worse than us after all even a point at the end of the season might make a difference but if not today then another game. As you saw throwing we hadn new players from the start and fabio was not up to speed at all. It did not help you pressed and closed down very quickly in our half...thank god Ole saw what was happening and brought on Zaha. As the bottom club we did fall back and try to defend the win during the last half hour but you created chance after chance. We had a lot of shots against West Ham and lost 2-0 today two went in for us and that will be the same for you in other games. I can assure you to have any chance against Man City you play your way and you may get lucky, we beat them at home after going a goal down and lost at their place but did score 2 goals. I know you deserved something today but that game is gone now and we needed 3 points badly. good luck the rest of the season, jck
I play at the FDC on Mondays and my son has coaching on Saturday mornings. I see some frankly disgusting parents on Saturday's.
To be honest, they'll do well to keep the score below 5-0 against this Man City team, there's no shame in any team getting smashed by them at the moment, there's a long way to go, but a win against Chelsea on Monday and Man City will be well on their way to the Prem Title.
Can't blame CH too much for today, just sloppy individual errors. Anything against Man C would be a huge bonus, but you never know (maybe you do). Those who want him to go may as well get behind CH and the players as he will be here for the rest of the season and your support can only help.
OK So as an outer I know nothing about football and therefore must bow down to all the happy clappers who understand the game and know exactly what our pathetic excuse for a manager is trying to do. He will keep us up you tell us - have you looked at the remaining fixtures? Have a look and tell me where the necessary points are going to come from. We all know how bad our away form is and out of the remaining 7 away games I reckon we will do well to get a couple of points. That would put us on 26 meaning the other 14 points would have to be made at home. I could see us beating Stoke and West Brom and possibly Sunderland but thats about it - making a total of 35. Does anyone think that will be enough? There's always the hope we could get a result against one of the top clubs but equally we could slip up in one of the winnable games. Conclusion - I don't think Hughton is capable of keeping us up but equally I'm not sure if anyone else can we've kept him far too long. But as I said earlier I apparently know nothing about football so perhaps one of the dwindling number of hc's can enlighten me.
Well currently he is keeping us up. No? And no one said you know nothing about football as far as I know. With 14 games left (almost half) I'm sure our remaining fixtures are not much worse then anyone else.
I think we will be very lucky to get 40 points based on the performance so far, but I'm just going to support the team and hope they do well. Can't really do anything else can we?, CH isn't going anywhere.
