Well if the racing beats the weather we have Ffos Llas, Sandown, Wetherby, Fairyhouse ,Lingfield, Wolverhampton + Meydan 13.50 Sandown- Kumbeshwar- 10/1 Will get the 2m on this ground- reports say he will get 2 1/2 on good ground and that was proved he didnt handle the ground over tht distance when fading @ cheltenham after startting of strongly. Has had a good run when 4th in the Haddon Gold Cup @ exter earlier in the season. The King yard is starting to hit back in form and this is about his level and I expect a big run @ this price tomorrow 15.35 Sandown- Fruity O'Rooney- 11/1 WIll love this test of stamina- has been running in some shorter, sharper races which really isnt his style which is the reason for the lack of good runs especially the last two times. He has dropped to his last winning mark and has the visor fitted agaun, as mentioned will love this slog as this horse is all about stamina and this is more his race.
A few look decent enough bets on the sand tomorrow and the sand may indeed be all we have if this rain continues. Lingfield 1.45 Hadeeth 5-2 This is a shocker of a race in as much as you can reasonably write of so many as out of form or having their mark reduced over an inadequate distance. There are three of any real substance with regard credible selections and one of these can be left out over the other two with a reasonable form appraisal. The two left are Pharoh Jake and Hadeeth, of the two Hadeeth I feel should be backed with some confidence as he was a little unlucky last week and looks to gain compensation today. 2.20 Resonare 4-1 I backed this horse last time out and felt I should have collected. I do fear Kashbom tomorrow as this horse has also looked good but I expect Resonare to finish first tomorrow. 2.55 Emerald Wilderness 14-1 EW This horse is a strong finisher on his day and very honest rarely giving anything less than his all. He won this race last year and whilst I would prefer a better draw at 14-1 he is a cracking EW bet and I can see him being fired down the outside in the final furlong to either just get up or just fail, at that price an ew bet will provide profit either way. 3.30 Grendisar 3-1 Another 2-3 horse race and one in which I feel Grendisar can just get the better of the Johnston horse who has run very well in its last two races. Whilst I would not argue against anyone who fancied the Johnston horse I just feel the 10lb rise given for his last win will make him vulnerable. Wolverhampton 3.25 Silken Express 15-8 I was very taken by this horses recent win against a very decent all weather rival. If in the same form tomorrow I cannot see anything getting the better of him. Good luck all
Three for today 1.15 - Pistol - Into handicaps and goes into this one off a mark of 124, which looks very fair for a horse that was a classy juvenile hurdler. He gets 3lbs extra off his back due to his age, and I think this is a perfect chance for him to get off the mark over fences. He has some scope and jumps well over the fences, and if Richard Johnson can get him to run to his talent, then I think he is very well handicapped. He is an EW bet at 7s. 2.10 Ice N Easy - Really liked this one last time but he found one too good. I don't think we have anything in this that can produce a career best to beat him and I think he is a stonking good bet. 2.40 De La Bech - This horse has great form with the Welsh National winner, and if he gets into a rhythm today he will run much better than he did at Cheltenham. He won't get outpaced early in this race and I think that will help him run back to his Chepstow form. He is quite game too, and off a light weight he can go very well. 7/1 EW
Good morning lads I too am keen on Grendisar, Blue, he's in my tracker and I think today is the day, much as I hate the sand monkeys! Elsewhere, best at Sandown is Desert Cry in the comp race, and I'm expecting a good run from Aachen in the 3-00 - won spectaculaly in his first novice chase in June 2012 then had 577 days off presumably injured. Had a comeback race 11 days ago and understandably did nothing, but if now fit, could take this grade 2 for Venetia. At Ffos Las I like Grand Vision in the 2-05 - another one on the way back. After a respectable 3rd in the 2012 Albert Bartlett he was off the track for 600 odd days, pulled up on his return, he turned in a decent effort ina grade 2 at Warwick. The race seems to be between Saphir Du Rheu and Whisper, but I think this fellow can shake 'em up a bit. At Wetherby, surely the 3-20 is Green Flag's for the taking ..... This game is easy, isn't it?
Morning all -going against you wooly in the 1 50 sand-Grey Gold seems to be coming to the boil -the ground will suit him to a T
Scoop 6 and ew lucky 63 on scoop races: 1:45 Lingfield - Belinsky 11/1 2:10 Wetherby - Ultimate 6/1 2:20 Lingfield - Welsh Inlet 20/1 2:55 Lingfield - Shamdarley 7/1 3:40 Fairyhouse - Killeenmore 10/1 4:05 Lingfield - Bertie Blu Boy 4/1 And then one very small stakes ew on Shays River 50/1 in the 1:30 Ffos Las
Morning everyone. I fancy two today 13-50 Eastlake e/w 11/2 only concern is the jockey, but i like the horse. 14-40 Mountainous e/w 11/2 going for e/w double and single's.
Really surprised to see Ffos Las, Sandown and Wetherby on today..Oscar Whiskeys race is pathetic. three runners! I shall be in the pub for France V England at 5pm.... what a game in prospect. 2 bets for me today.:- Ffos Las 2.05pm - Swynymor 25/1 BPG E/W. Horse has shown ability in the past and should have won the Welsh Champion at Chepstow last season, Goes well in the mud and has a 10lb claimer on board to bring about a feather weight. Outside chance of a place at big odds.. Ffos Las 2.40pm - Emperors Choice 5/1 BPG E/W. I backed this horse in the Tommy Whittle where he never seemed to get going. The extreme distance and heavy going will suit him here and he's down to a nice mark which he has won off previously. Has to go close!
Good day, Oddy, you've been watching too many Tatorts? That's three corpses already, one's me, who are the other two? Haven't had a look at the cards yet, so yet to advise an alarming loser (huge sigh of relief all round, no doubt ). Have a good Saturday everyone, and back all the winners!
Mwildcats - if you are looking at this thread, please change your comp selection as Grey Gold is the challengers selection
Saphir Du Rheu owes me nothing and is a decent price at 2/1 - Only thing that worries me is if Nicholls wants it to win as he will creep up the weights again before Cheltenham. Horatio Hornblower - Hasnt run for over a year but finished a decent 3rd behind The Romford Pele last time out, ran in the Champion bumper behind Champagne Fever aswell that year so horse must be pretty well thought of. Some Money has come already which is a plus after so many days off. Green Flag - Finished 2nd in the Feltham behind Annacotty who then went on to carry a huge weight at Cheltenham last week in the mud to finish 2nd. That form looks good and take him to get the better of Shutthefrontdoor
Afternoon all. Today's lucky 15. Ffos Las,1-30, Bar A Mine. " " 2-05,Whisper. Sandown,2-25, Oscar Whisky. Wetherby,3-20, Green Flag. Good luck to all.
I was going to stay off today but I'll have a go with the hedging bet: Lingfield 15.30 Grendisar 2 points at 3/1 and a 1 point saver on Blue Wave and Swing Alone at SP Ffos Las 14.40 Whisper 9/4 Saphir Du Rheu 9/4- both 2 points win,
