With the players he has managed to ship out, something his predecessors seemed to struggle with, I reckon he's pretty much covered the wages of Long and Jelavic even if they are close to the reported £45k per week. Overall I would suggest the overall wage bill is unchanged. Icing on the cake is getting c£1.5m in also to offset fees paid.

Absolutely. When you consider we were paying 32k for Graham - despite what some think - offloading him alone basically reduces Long or Jelavic's wages to 13k a wek, if the 45k is to be believed.

It could also be seen as 32k a week pretty much wasted between August and January, down to SB's choice of striker. I think he has done well with most of his signings but his choice of forwards have been pretty poor so far. Hopefully he has it right this time.

Graham will still be costing us, there's no way Boro are paying him £32k a week.

Our loan with him has been terminated. He is no longer on our books. It is a loan from Sunderland to Boro, we are no longer involved.

We were responsible for his wages until the end of the season, there's no way they took him back if they were out of pocket, we'll have paid the difference to get them to cancel the loan.

Were Proschwitz, Mclean, Cairney and Hobbs on that much?

I would expect they're on £15-20k, Proschwitz is probably on the most.

Absolutely. No-one is perfect, Alex Ferguson had his moments, just pointing out that the striker dept has not been SB's finest hour.

Totally agree, he's built the best team I've seen, except in the strikers department. But it's not like it's a recent thing, the last 3 or 4 have struggled for some reason. It's amazing that we've actually had success despite not having a goalscorer.

dead right, apart from Fryatt, Hull City has been a knackers yard for front men of late

Its a valid point. We havent had a good strikeforce since Deano and Campbell and before them it was probably BBB and Allsop. We've had 1 good partnership in 10 years!

It's probably easier to ship players out when other teams actually want them.

    No criticism meant.
