Rangers' top scorer hit his 15th goal of the season in the 2-1 win over Bolton on Tuesday night but had to go off after suffering a shoulder injury and has since been ruled out for a "prolonged period" after scans showed he needs an operation. Joey Barton hopes to be fit after missing the last two matches due to a thigh injury but fellow midfielder Yossi Benayoun is struggling with a groin problem. Right-back Danny Simpson faces a spell on the sidelines with a back injury but winger Junior Hoilett is fit after hamstring trouble. Burnley, meanwhile, will hand late fitness tests to Keith Treacy and Daniel Lafferty ahead of their trip to west London. The Clarets, now trailing Harry Redknapp's second-placed team by three points, missed both winger Treacy (neck) and full-back Lafferty (thigh) in the midweek draw against Brighton and will see how the pair come through Thursday's training session. Boss Sean Dyche could include Ross Wallace for the first time since August, though, after the winger came through a midweek cup game with Oldham and showed no adverse reaction to a knee injury. Ben Mee is also considered fully-fit once more having played all of Tuesday's contest following a recent thigh problem. please log in to view this image The Managers please log in to view this image v please log in to view this image Redknapp --- v --- Dyches A Fan's View QPR were dealt a crushing blow this week with the news that player of the season so far, Charlie Austin has been ruled out for a prolonged period owing to a shoulder injury that requires surgery. After Austin (15 goals), the next highest goalscorer has a mere three goals, and I must admit, like many, I was pretty despondent upon hearing the news yesterday. However, it has meant Harry Redknapp has had to act quickly in the transfer market today and as I write this Aaron Hughes, Kevin Doyle, Will Keane, Guilherme Dellatorre and Modibo Maiga have been brought in on loan. If Doyle in particular can rediscover his early form at Wolves and Reading then we`ve got a very good striker on our hands. This season, Doyle has struggled and hopefully a change of scenery will sort his confidence out. Maybe a fresh start at Loftus Road will help him rediscover the scoring touch that has eluded him in this campaign. Today`s match against Burnley will be a tough test for the R`s. Burnley eased to victory in the reverse fixture in October, courtesy of a brace from the excellent Danny Ings. His partnership with Sam Vokes has been one of the main reasons why they are in the hunt for promotion, and they must be dealt with (somehow) if the Super Hoops are to take anything out of the game. Without Austin, QPR need Johnson, Zamora and the new bunch to step up. Let`s face it, without other players supplementing Austin`s goals, our promotion hopes will fade fast. That being said, I`m intrigued to see how the new lads get on and think a manager like Harry Redknapp is certainly the right man to restore confidence in players like Doyle and Maiga. Today’s team news; Green, Traore, Dunne, Hill, Phillips, Johnson, Doyle, Onuoha, Barton, Kranjcar, BAE Today's bench; Murphy, Carroll, Hughes, Henry, Hoilett, Zamora, Maiga
Delighted. Two forwards on the pitch. Little and large up top. A chance for Doyler to become an instant hero
Could be Traore on the left with Niko playing a more central role. This potentially is one of the most attacking teams Harry has put out all year This is what I've been looking for
We appear to be doing remarkably well for a team where the manager apparently picks the wrong team every week.
I am new to all this and this is my first post, but after the bad news about Charlie and maybe disappointment with yesterday's transfers, I like the look of that team. 3 pts today would certainly make for a good weekend. Come on u rrr's!
Really buzzing about Doyle getting another shot at it. I remember my young lad and myself back in 2003 seeing Kevin play with Cork City and the young lad remarking that night that "he is a good player Dad". Dunne has done his bit so far, let's hope Kevin can do something too.
Welcome Lisburn, exciting looking team, hope it pays off. Are you from Lisburn? Im just down the road in Kilkeel.
Come on lads ... Let's get behind the team today ... win draw or lose. My boy is there today but sadly I can't be ... raise the roof
Welcome Lisburn hope we get 3pts same day as you join here with the rest of us intellectuals Cmoooon uu'rrrrrrrrrrr'sssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!
I don't reckon us in 4 4 2 - with only Kranscjar and Barton in central midfield we could get overrun, but believe and hope Burnley play the same.
Looks like 442 with Kranky in the middle, could be a bit lightweight there but we shall see, theyve gone 442 so its a straight matchup. At least we have attacking options in Carroll, Hoilett, Maiga and (lol) Zamora on the bench so we can make changes if needed.
