So at best we are the scouting team for the rest of the league... At worst. 3 days negotiating with a club that refused to sell....
He has a point but results can paper over cracks and our squad is creaking right now. You can't deny it will be a total waste of a good opportunity if a few more injuries cripple our chances. It will be a real shame. We needed to strengthen before beating Everton and we still needed to afterwards. Standing still can be fatal in the madhouse that is this league. I guess what we can hope is that the strengthening comes from the return of the likes of Flannel, Sakho and Enricky. The biggest issue for me is that there were ten to fifteen good reasons to strengthen in this window and really no excuse not to. Yet we haven't. That doesn't lessen how good our team is now but it lessens our chances over the next few months to fight for two trophies. I've said before mate I'm really not arsed about tonights deal or the Salah one but I am arsed no one on our magical transfer committee could find a better left back than Cissokho amongst the worlds football population.....I mean seriously??
Eh? Vinny O'Connor says #LFC triggered Konoplyanka's release clause of £15m but owner refused to sign paper work. Surely illegal?
Could that have something to do with the five or six injuries we have? Some such as Enrique, Sakho and Lucas being key players? I agree with your thoughts on the plank and Salah. We did need a LB but I'm not that bothered about that so long as we can get Enrique back. What's pissed me off is the lack of CM.
But then does this not also come under "we don't know" category? They might make a list of rated wanted players, then money men look at prices and say no no no, unavailable no no no ?
Think we need balance. Clearly Ayre isn't the best at negotiating and we have failed in the past. But, we were after arguably the best player in Ukraine - the best player in his side. Dnipro is owned by a billionaire who has been described by several media outlets as 'impossible'.
The club president refused to sign after we met the clause, that's correct. Apparently. ****ed up if true.
Doesn't this mean the player can just walk away from the contract as the owner already breached the terms?
Quite possibly. But then I'm not praising or slating Ayre or anyone else bar the transfer committee (for not going for a CM although there were rumours)
Sue him? Surely it should be UEFA stepping in and saying your club is banned for not playing by the rules? Billionaire won't like a toy not on display.
