I can assure you i did feel bad comparing them to you, but tbf my mum used to work with them so I probably know more than most people. And it shouldn't really matter how many people it offends, you shouldn't be able to justify an offending joke by how many people it may offend. I stated on another thread, wait until you see him play half a season for Liverpool with experienced players around him before judging him. Judging players on the U21's or international football in general is harsh. Was 20 million to much probably yes but I think everyone knows there is a premium on young English players. I reserve judgement on his playing ability until next season. As for value if he can help bring success back to Liverpool then their supporters will see him as worth every penny.
Theres a premiuim on English players full-stop. If Carrick was any other nationality bar English Spurs would never have got £18 million,the same applies to Everton and Lescott,Aston Villa and Milner,Leeds and Ferdinand,Sunderland and Bent,Portsmouth and Glen Johnson,Newcastle and Andy Carroll. We exploited the same thing when we sold Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid,we would never have got £34 million if Alonso wasn't Spanish.He was 28 for god sake.

Obviously our spending is not a valid criticism- everyone who can, spends the money to improve their team. It's just a cheap dig because some people are obsessed with winding us up and they see this as an opportunity. Hey, being a bit precious this morning aren't we? So it wasn't the best thread but it was late, the cider was slipping down nicely, (the music on my headphones was good) and nobody got killed. But if it annoyed you all so much, I appologise As for Henderson, he played very well for Suderland last season. We have bought talent and its now up to KK/SC to develop that talent. The U21 performances are meaningless in that respect.

Apparently 2 games is enough to judge Henderson, who has played well this season but lets leave that out because it messes with Mancs evaluation of hm.
