If he goes I'll be a bit disappointed tbf. I like Catts but this about Gus seeing the team he wants not our favourites. If he went and Bridcutt and Banega came in then I'd be pretty excited. If he went and no one came in I'd be worried. Same goes for any of our strikers tbh, although I'd like to keep Fletcher as I think he isn't fully fit not out of form and looking to move. He will be an asset next season as well.

Think Borini might change his mind, and look to stay here as he's been on SAFCee recently, speaking very positively about our club.

That can't be true. He's had more than enough time to get his fitness up. If it is his fitness then he needs to stop being lazy and sort it out. I think he could be carrying an injury. Either that or he can't hack the philosophy. We've been blaming his fitness for months, he was back at Palace away. Seems like a life time ago.

Borini's position will resolve itself in May. I'm sure we will be interested but it depends on how much Liverpool would want. £10m would be out of the question. Would he be happy to go back and be a bench warmer at Anfield as I am sure they will again strengthen in the Summer and he wouldn't keep Sturridge or Suarez out of the team.

If we can get him for say £5m/£6m; the bin dippers were willing to sell and the player was happy to continue his career here then he will stay. If any of the above dont happen then he wont. Simple as.

Benno was suggesting it was a fresh injury (ankle) mate not an old one.

I'd pay up to 8m for Borini. His movement and work rate are superb.

I'd give them the £10m mate as he has become an integral part of the way Poyet wants us to play but I don't think we will pay that kind of money from within mate?

I will be interested to see how Scocco does before being definitive on Borini.
But I'm with you on the price he isn't worth anywhere near 10 mill at the present time

For me, Fletch attitude & lack of interest has soured the whole thing, and he can go whenever he likes for me.

Borini I love, but I do think the Scousers will keep him, you need 4 strikers to compete at the levels they are looking for, he was always sent here to benefit them.

Borini for all his worth, he'll never be a 15-20 a season player, no way.

Scocco will add something completely different in flair, in skill & in the ability to score from nothing, we will likely look to replace Fletch & Jozy once we know what league we are in.

    I reckon we'd go to about £8m

All would depend on what Liverpool tell Borini, if he's part of their plans we've no chance, but if they want to offload him I reckon we could get him for as low around £8m

There was a Scottish lad who worked for one of the clubs in Scotland on the health side and he said on Fletcher's injury it's normally in excess of 12 months before a Ayer is fully recovered. And this is playing occasionally for. 20 minutes every few weeks. Sadly, with Jozy being not exactly up to scratch, he's had to play far more than he should have and this is the reason he's not getting his fitness back.

Should have played Wickham. When Fletcher came on nothing stuck up front.

I hope we have three players in by Friday.

    2 central midfielders and scocco.

I'm a bit confused Cest. You'd pay £10m on this post but not on the next one (I'm full of Guinness so I might have misread in which case you'll slap me down on that one).

Either way you wouldn't want to seriously pay too much for Borini who isn't a 15+ a season striker. It's not good enough that fits into a system if he doesn't consistently put the ball past the goalie. We need a 15-20+ striker.

I'm also concerned that Scocco hasn't signed yet. Close or very close is nowhere until pen is put to paper. Why us it taking so long?

I'd happily pay £10m for the lad but I am not the Billionaire owner of SAFC mate and what I am saying is that I don't think the club (Short) would be willing to part with that kind of money for him IMO.

I have seen the photos tonight of Scocco signing his contract and the lads twitter page has announced he is happy to be here so thats a done deal for me. I think we need another striker in the summer as I don't see Borini as an out and out striker but more an attacking midfielder in this fluid 4-5-1 formation Poyet likes to play and works as hard as any player at the club. We are going to be a far more pacy and fluid team next season under Gus and not a regulation 4-4-2 big lad up front team at all. The early signs are nice to see but this season is all about staying up. Next season is about the Gus way.

Agreed mate. Just heard that he was there tonight, and yes, Borini isn't an out and out striker and agreed, I'd keep him as long as we sign another striker.
